  • A great game for the whole family!
Originally purchased this game for the Xbox 360, but then picked it up again once we got our Xbox One. This game is FANTASTIC. The Lego games create different stories. This is something other than what you're used to seeing in the theater and on television, or reading in the books, and typically has a comical twist to it. For instance, in this game, dinosaurs seem to be pretty keen on hotdogs, and make sure they've got warm winter attire on when locked in a freezer. This game combines the original Jurassic Park, and the newest Jurassic World. You can play thru both (shortened) stories, or free play anywhere in the two worlds, taking a tram between the two. Jurassic Park Jeeps, and Jurassic World Gyro Spheres (along with many other vehicles [boyfriend's daughter got mad I wouldn't let her spend all of our money on a FORK LIFT]), allow you navigate the roads in between much quicker. The best feature in this game (aside from being able to jump into a pile of dinosaur droppings [and get an achievement!]) is the ability to play as a Lego dinosaur! This takes the game from awesome to AWESOME. Take my advice, if you're playing co-op with a friend, become a dinosaur, and just step on them. Thumbs up this review if it starts an all out dinosaur war. All in all, this is a fun, easy, family friendly game. My toddler, while still too little to hold the controller properly, will sit down and watch this game like a movie, while my boyfriend's daughter and I navigate the two worlds. ... show more

  • A Solid Lego and Jurassic Park Game
I'm finding great enjoyment in this game. Whereas I was disappointed in the Lord of the Rings Lego version (still a decent Lego game, but not a great LotR game), this game better utilizes the quotes from the movies in comical and interesting ways. It isn't afraid to mess with the stories just a little or have fun with them, whereas LotR was a little too on the nose at times with their quotes and stories. One of my favorite parts of this game is when they mess with the line "Clever girl" from the first movie. I won't ruin it for you, but I laughed out loud. I'm actually playing this with my (pretty smart) 4 year old and she is able to assist me without getting too confused or angry at not being able to do what she needs to do, and yet I find that I'm enjoying every second of it, so it's not just kid-gameplay either. You can alter designs and colors of the dinosaurs once you unlock them (a fun touch), go to either Jurassic Park or Jurassic World right off the bat, and unlock the other movies as you go along. The stories are succinct and yet don't miss the major plot points while having fun with all the best lines. Studs don't seem to be as stingy as in some of the other games so you don't feel like you have to search for hours to unlock a few red bricks. Overall, if you are either a Lego game fan or a Jurassic Park fan, this is a solid buy and so far, one of my favorite Lego games in quite a while. ... show more

  • Lego's Games Continue to be a Fun Distraction from More Serious Games.
I honestly don't know how many of these LEGO games I have played now. I have played the Star Wars games, the Indiana Jones games, the Batman games, the Harry Potter games, the Pirates of the Caribbean games etc. I lost count somewhere along the way. My latest brush with LEGO videogames takes me back to Jurassic Park. I am definitely a fan of the Jurassic Park films so I was really happy too see LEGO bring Jurassic Park into the LEGO game series and I suspected going in that this would be yet another entertaining LEGO game and that it definitely was. All 4 games are covered here including the original Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Jurassic Park III, and the recent and successful Jurassic World. At this point, I don't think one needs to explain the game dynamics for LEGO games. I am fairly confident that 99% of gamers at this point have played at least one of LEGO's games up to this point. So people know going in what to expect gameplay wise. Jurassic Park does a great job at keeping the basic game mechanic fun and that of course includes running around as dinosaurs. You can play as 20 different Dino's throughout the game plus design your own. Given that the whole premise behind Jurassic World was basically creating a new dinosaur, not letting people design thier own would have been a big letdown, but thakfully that option is included. Everything from past LEGO games is here as well. The collecting of characters, red bricks, gold bricks, etc. It defnitely takes some time to get a 100% completion with a LEGO game, but I have always enjoyed the challenge of reaching 100% completion and that definitely remained the case with Jurassic Park. The voice acting is done by the main Hollywod stars so that helps to give it that Jurassic Park feel. There was nothing earth shatteringly new with this game, short of being able to be a dinosaur, but I actually think that is one of the things people like about these games. They have introduced some new game mechanics here and there as the LEGO game series has progressed, but thier never anything that actually takes away from the games main game mechanic, that being smash everything you can while solving puzzles. You would think that mechanic would get boring by now, after so many different game releases, but it hasn't, at least not for me. Why it hasn't gotten boring yet is a good question, but its clearly the fact that the games main game mechanic remains entertaininig that has made this series so successful. If people had gottten bored with it, they wouldn't be continuing to churn these games out as they do and even if they did, people would stop buying them and that definitely hasn't been the case, on either front. Is it people's enjoyment of the movies? Is it the simple but entertaining game premise? Personally, I think its a liitle bit of both and that is why Jurassic Park was yet another very successful and entertaining LEGO game. Bottom line - If you are getting bored of the main LEGO game mechanic then you should steer clear of this release as again, there is nothing earth shatteringly new here that redefines the LEGO games. If your like me and are still finding enjoymeny from the basic mechanic behind the LEGO games and you enjoyed any of the Jurassic Park films then this should be another no brainer LEGO game purchase. It was for me and I came out the other end thoroughly enjoying my time in the LEGOfied Jurassic Park. 4 Stars! ... show more

  • My kids love it! So do we! My kids love it! So do we!
This is such a fun game. My kids (6&7) love the game and it’s honestly a blast. My husband and I grew up loving the Jurassic Park movies and this is so cool to see the game following the movies. It has levels from the original as well as newer movies. Challenging in a fun way, we’ve had fun playing as a family and figuring out the puzzles along the way. 10/10 we all love this game! So fun for the whole family. Great graphics, smart and funny puzzles, realistic (like the movies) characters and story line. ... show more

  • Fun
I had a lot of fun playing this one. Yeah I am 48 and would be embarrassed to let other people know I played it. Can always say the grand kids left it in the ps4 and was too lazy to swap it out or you bought it by mistake or something. The game had corny humor which made me laugh. And it was fun trying to work out how to get everything. Not too hard to get 100 percent on the game and fun enough not to get bored while doing it. Its a nice casual game. I also played the Lego Lord of the Rings and Hobbit games which were just as good. The games are mission based on a map that is also playable. You collect items and characters with different abilities which let you collect additional items. Sometimes its a challenge to work out how to find and get the right character to get something so you have to play the missions multiple times. Even the maps have things you have to find and collect. Recommend printing a fake GTA game label and put it on the case to fool people. ... show more
