Havent had a Sylvania LED fail yet, so quality seems there. I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in for future buyers of any bulb. On color temperature, even though there's many good comments on it, I wanted to let others know 4100k LEDs are available. I mention this because that really does seem to be a good balance of yellow and white. Ive used 3500k in bedrooms (with good results), but you cant see as well as with 5000k lights. The problem with 5000k lights is they are a pale white and almost even seem to make the room look like its in black and white. And ofcourse 6000k is a cold blue. However, 4100k really is a light you can see well with, without looking weird. Also, the color of the ceiling has a big effect with different color temperature lights. In my house I have two green painted rooms side by side, except one has a white ceiling and one has a green ceiling to match the walls. And with the room that has a white ceiling, I can get away with a 5000k bulb. It produces a brilliant white light that lights the whole room. But the room that has a green ceiling, the light produced looks pale in comparison, somehow never bright enough, even when I put 2 bulbs in instead of just 1. So dont forget to take into account if your ceiling is painted white or not. Because with a dark color paint, it seems to absorb light. And when a high color temperature light is used with limited overall lumens, the end result is a pale look. In such rooms you may be better off with a lower K light, maybe 4100k or less. ... show more

Its refreshing to be able to find 3500K color temperature bulbs, its the perfect color temperature for a nice clean modern whiter appearance without being overly harsh. When you go to a big box store, they all seem to limit you to either "warm white" 2700k bulbs (too yellow), or "daylight" 5000K (too blue). My only disappointment is that Sylvania does not offer the premium line (Ultra LED) 3500K in the 40W equivalent (5.5 watt actual), they only offer it in their economy line that has a lower rated lifespan. ... show more

My electrician told me about these LED bulbs. I was using a glass bulb over my stove, in the fan, and he mentioned that if hot water hit it it could break while cooking. These are more plastic material and won't break like the glass ones. Plus, they use a lot less electricity. I like the indoor/outdoor feature and daylight brand of Sylvania LED A19. For hard to get to places I like the LED extra hours of use (my old bulbs only lasted for 1-2 months) and I always had to drag out the ladder to replace the bulb. ... show more

I have been on the hunt for bulbs for quite some time...3000 kelvins were just too yellow and i would have to keep my lamps off due to the awful color they would put off...i have creamy walls and off white couches....so lots of light furniture...these bulbs will be the only bulbs i buy from now on! I have bought so many light bulbs since moving into our new house trying to find the perfect balance of brightness that wasn’t yellow or blue. It has been so much harder than I thought it would be to find. Like why is it so hard to just find a white light?! I couldn’t find any at Home Depot or Lowe’s. If you are looking for exact white it may still be a tad warm for you but I have these in my living room, dining room, and kitchen which is sort of open concept. Hardly anyone makes 3500K bulbs... 2700K or daylight at 5000K. So, these are much appreciated for my kitchen, where I want whiter but not institutional glare. I give these only a four. That's because I previously purchased two of the identical brand, temperature, and model from Home Despot about 2.5 years ago after a kitchen remodel. Very hard to find 3500K bulbs. One bulb continues to work fine, the other conked out, necessitating this purchase from Amazon since Home Despot no longer carries the brand. And now, I have 3 extras... with luck, they'll become part of my estate. ... show more

Just bought these for use in outside enclosed wall sconces as they have an operating temperature range of -4degF to 113degF. The bulbs are a little shorter than regular bulbs, and are much heavier than incandescent bulbs (not a problem, just a note). They are much brighter than a 100 watt bulb, and use only around 1/7th the power. The brightness amazed me; I can see quite clearly across the entire yard from just one bulb, and I'm on about 3/4 acre, so around half that on one side of the house. I keep these lights on 24/7, so now I'll find out how long they last in this environment. ... show more
