I really like this slimline floor lamp. It is very thin and fits easily in the corner of our room. It comes with a remote control that is easy to use and self explanatory. It was easy to put together. It took about a minute to screw it all together. It has a range of light colors going from a warm yellow to a cool white. You can stop it anywhere through the range when you get to your desired color. Then you can adjust the brightness level as desired too. A neat feature is the night light setting. It is dimmer than the lowest light setting and it is nice for when we watch movies and to light the room slightly when we go to bed. It also has a sleep timer function that will automatically turn the light off in the selected amount of time. I like how small the base is too. It isn't as large as most floor lamps. This makes it really nice for areas where you don't have a lot of extra space. It fits perfectly in our small room and I can have a small table by it too with a little floor space to spare. The only issue I have is that it doesn't fully light up the entire room. It has a limited distance and I wish it was a little greater than what it is. ... show more

    • Great light. Best if you can put it somewhere to get indirect lighting.
I wanted this to be the best light ever. It's good, but not perfect. Even though they're out of style now (and a fire hazard) I liked the old torch style, with the halogen bulbs. This looked to be the modern version of them. First, it comes with installation and operating instructions. These days that's not always the case. The remote is easy to operate and it's magnetic so you can stick it right to the metal rod of the lamp, or anywhere else metal. I like the dedicated "night mode" button, as well as the off delay timer (1-hour). What I learned from this lamp is why I liked the old torch style. The light from the old lamps pointed mostly straight up in the air. So the light in the room was all indirect lighting, which is wonderful. On this lamp, you can turn the color temperature down to make the light more pleasing. But at the higher color temperatures (which I usually prefer) the light is very harsh. It basically feels like you have a shop light hanging in front of you. So, I'll try to find somewhere for this light the can give me indirect lighting. Alternatively, I may try to create some kind of a shade for it, like a saw in another review. If you try that option, be sure to not create a fire hazard. The manual clearly states, "Do not cover the lamp with flammable material". ... show more

This light is just shy of greatness - it seems to be high quality with a beautiful fluted lampshade that gives off good light. The remote is okay but I do wish there were better ways of controlling the lamp without it (there are not). The thing I dislike the most is the strip of LEDs inside of the lamp- each LED diode is spaced far apart and is not diffused by the lamp shade. This makes the whole thing look much cheaper than it should and the effect of the fluted lampshade doesn't do enough to cover this up. ... show more

    • Don't look into the light!
This comes very well packaged in foam sheets to protect it during shipping. Assembly instructions are provided and it only took me a few minutes to get it all together. The base of the lamp is very weighted to keep the lamp from tipping over. There isn't any on/off switch on the lamp. You only control it from the remote (or unplugging it) The remote has the on/off button as well as buttons to control the lamp brightness and color. There is a timer button which will turn off the lamp in 60 minutes, and a night button which dims the lamp. I had to use the brightness+ button to get the lamp back to normal brightness after pushing the night button. The lamp remembers the settings you had when you turn it off and returns to those settings when you turn it back on. The lamp portion has a plastic diffuser, but looking directly at the lamp could still hurt your eyes. There isn't a lamp shade, this is like looking at a bare light bulb. My hack to fix that was to wrap a sheet of white computer paper around the light which gives it a Chinese lantern look. ... show more

This is a good floor lamp. I like the way it diffuses the light in a 360° arc without being overbearing or imposing. The remote makes it easy to control. It's not exceedingly tall so it can fit comfortably in most places. It has adjustable settings for both the brightness and warmth. You can easily dim the light or make it quite bright, and the color can go from cold white (looks blue in my pic) to a warm yellow.
