And I can report that it does effectively increase the coverage area sufficiently for the paperwork spread all over the table. Since it also is a gooseneck, am able to bend the lamp head to position to minimize or reduce glare from the glass tabletop and also white paper. This lamp has five levels of brightness and color temperature, the Soft White working best for my wife. The overall design of the lamp and gooseneck seem well constructed, no sharp edges or burrs, finish is very nice and consistent, no runs or missed areas. The base is not too heavy that moving the lamp is difficult but is heavy enough to provide stability even if accidentally bumped. My wife is also a Crafter and Seamstress, so this light has already been put to use within the past couple days. This lamp even gives off more lumens then the overhead halogen dinning room fixture, which is very bright but light is yellow and not white. Anyone that has tried to work on small electronics under a yellow light will tell you that it is difficult, but no problem when working under white light. My wife and I are happy with this lamp. It was shipped with a couple other items that I had ordered, everything was shipped in one large box, so the lamp arrived intact and undamaged. Putting the lamp together took less then five minutes, is self explanatory, no instructions are needed. The only way the manufacture could improve this lamp is if it came with a wireless remote. I ordered this to replace the flickering reading lamp behind my couch, and I’m very pleased. The package had a nice heft, mostly from the weighted base, which is definitely sufficient to keep the lamp stable. Assembly was just a matter of screwing together the vertical pieces by hand. Interestingly, the instructions suggest you could leave out sections to make the lamp shorter. Something, I hadn’t considered. Maybe you could even convert this for table-top use. The cord is very long. I had no trouble reaching an outlet. I like that the controls are easily accessible from a seated position on the couch. It gets super bright, but I had it on the lowest and warmest setting in my photos, which allowed it to blend into the ambience of my room. It would make a great task light. I appreciate the maneuverability of the goose neck. It’s satisfying to bend and position. My only concern is that the neck has a rubber coating, and I know that can get sticky with age, but I like the way it feels now. It’s cool that the two light wands can be angled as desired, but it looks best when they are straight across, sort of like a picture light. Recommended. ... show more

    • The cord stays outside the lamp pole
This lamp is very easy to assemble and it took me a very short time (15 minutes). What threw me though, was the fact that the lamp cord does not go through the lamp poles, but rather hangs outside the poles. I don't think this is a very attractive look, since when it DOES go into the pole it's up high and in your line of sight. But, the lights on this lamp are very bright, and it has five different settings if you want them dimmer, and even the warm yellow light if you prefer (I prefer the bright daylight light). The two LED lights can be swiveled/adjusted so they can face wherever you need the light. The light isn't as high/tall as I expected. The website says it's 63 inches high, but that must be if the gooseneck is straight up. The height of my lamp with a natural curve in the gooseneck is 55 inches. It'll work, though. ... show more

I got this to light up a reading corner. It sits behind an armchair in the corner of the bedroom. My eyesight is definitely changing as I mature and the versatility of the direction, color, and brightness of the light is perfect to match my constantly shifting needs. You can't adjust the height, but the piece the list are fastened to can be manipulated to twist into any direction. In addition, the two lights can be stretched out longways to make it appear like one long bar of light, folded together to look like one shorter and brighter bar of light, or separated completely to have the light come down from two different spots. The color and brightness settings have 5 different options each- separately! That creates so many options to the type of lighting you can have for this space. The light is easy on my eyes, plus there are two light strips 15 watts,160 LED's ,that come out of one base, so I can use the flex arm to get them to where I want the light, while doing some knitting or reading on the couch.63 inches tall, and the cord comes out of the light at the top, with inline controller. You can make it shorter by not putting one of the lower metal pole pieces in. There are 5 colors and 5 light dimness's. Power adapter to plug into AC. There is no timer, just on off and color/dim control, which is at waist level when all the poles are connected, so easy to find, and easy to change. No remote to lose either. You can also shine the lights up to the ceiling to create another effect, put behind your back or directly on projects you are working on. ... show more
