We spend 2 weeks every summer on the beach and my friends laughed at me when I showed up with this last year.......The day we arrived it was pouring rain and this went up over our picnic area and saved the first night at our rental house (we BBQ/ate outdoors). There was some razzing the first day on the beach as well......by day 3 there were many TYs being passed under the canopy! We did not use the rolling bag to transport it to the beach, we just carried it. It DEF takes two people to set up and if you have another person or two (not necessary) it makes setup even easier. I bought the ABCCANOPY weight bags seperately which further compliment this canopy. It was well worth the money and will I DEF be taking it to the beach again this year!

System was easy to setup even with only one person. Frame came as a single, folded item, with the side braces unfolding accordian-style to expand to the full size. A bit of effort is required to get everything expanded, but so long as the legs are free to slide on the ground it works quite easily. The canopy can be stretched over the frame before extending the frame to its full height. Attached to the canopy at each corner is a guy rope (thin synthetic line), with an adjustment fitting and included wire-type stake. The adjustment fittihng (a rubbery plastic piece with a hole that the line goes through) works on friction to hold the line tight - the line is very smooth and slick, and has a tendency to work itself loose with any flexing of the canopy. The wire stakes will probably hold well in a firm soil with good sod, but will not work well if set in sand or other loose material. The canopy is somewhat difficult to fully stretch over the extended frame, and can be difficult to pull over the corners far enough to engage the velcro hold points on the corner posts. The canopy is light enough that even though it is stretched tight to the corners, it stretches and allows water to collect at the middle of the edges. The velcro attachments to the side braces are not tight enough to prevent this. I noticed this ponding during a period of light to moderate rain, and probably 20 pounds of water collected along one side. During a very heavy rainstorm (several inches of rain over the course of an hour or two), enough water collected along one edge to cause the frame to physically fail. One of the bards connecting the center to the corners physically snapped at the joint where a corner brace was attached and the side brace at the point where the water collected folded on itself, with one of the rods creasing and bending, but not breaking, at a folding joint. All in all, this product is good for short term use only - it cannot be left unattended in any situation in which precipitation will be able to accumulate, because the tarp cover cannot shed water reliably, and the frame will fail if enough water accumulates. This product lasted about 3 weeks, and failed during the first heavy rain - wind at the time was light and had little effect (a higher wind may have caused the canopy to "flap" enough to dump the water before it accumulated enough to cause a problem).

We purchase the Leader 10 x 10 instant canopy to use while camping in the Blueridge Mountians of NC. Typical to the summer and location it rained most afternoons. The tent held up well to the rain. After the third day of being soaked (and not having a chance to dry out) it would leak occasionally, nothing that stopped us from sheltering underneither it during a storm. It did require three of us to put up and it is rather heavy (which has its advantages during a storm). I don’t think one person could put it up by themselves. We also purchased the sidewall the mesh canopy. The sidewall added a bit of privacy and the mesh canopy was used to hold our towels, fishing poles, paper towels etc. over all great product and the canopy is a must buy accessory for $10.

These comments are really more for Leader Accessories' customer service. The canopy is great and worked great, until a gust of wind picked it up and deposited into Jordanelle Reservoir. One leg snapped off and one of the scissor pieces was bent. I contacted Leader Accessories the same day to see if I could get replacement parts, and today (two business days later) I received a text message from their customer service which contained the UPS tracking number for my replacement parts. Judy and Wayne from customer service were life savers or canopy savers, if you will. Would not hesitate to purchase items again from Leader Accessories.

Don't plan to stay dry in the rain. None of the seams are sealed so water will leak in everywhere. You will get wet under the canopy even if there is no wind.

Used it on the beach for a week in Ocean City Maryland. Held up well even in prolonged windy conditions (20+ mph gusts). Used it with the stakes (didn't use the leader lines) and with Industrial Grade AbcCanopy Leg Weights. Easy to set up and break down (always need at least 2 people though). Well-made canopy - tough but lightweight, vented, with spf protection. A must for a family beach trip with kids. If we rented umbrellas it would've been $40 a day.

This was a great purchase and a must have for the beach, however this model/brand did not last three days on the beach in Folly Beach, SC. Even though it was anchored the wind was too much for it and it collapsed and broke in several places. It took quite a while to bust it up small enough to throw it in the trash. Perhaps there are more durable models out there.

package came double boxed. I was very impressed as soon as I pulled the bag out. It's nice, with rolling wheels. The structure is nice and sturdy - way better than the last brand I had! It was super easy to put up and the velcrow attachments for the canopy keep it nice and snug. The vent on top is great because we can get gusts of wind so it helps to prevent it from becoming a kite. We didnt use the ropes because I have dogs and didnt want them to get caught on them when running around, or chew them up. We use it as a shade for our dogs so we dont extend it to full height. Great quality, great price. very impressed!
