A great assortment of colors are in this set. The floss was easy to separate and doesn't break easily. I combined it with 2 starnds of DMC floss to give a little flair to some of the things I've crossed stitched, especially Christmas ornaments. The thread really sparkles when the tree lights are on and the ornaments definitely stands out from some of the other ornaments. I've used to to embelish some of my tops and sweaters and it looks a bit more elegant than before I added the metallic accents! I've had people stop me to ask where I bought a particular item I'm wearing after adding the accents and some of them are really surprised that I did it myself. It's really very easy to use and looks great om pretty much everything I've used it on. Highly recommend these! Linneaann

I really love this floss. Buying it in bulk saved me a ton of money since I needed so much of it for my projects. A lot of other reviews complain that it frays, but it is supposed to! It allows you to use different thicknesses of thread. I was really happy that I was able to thin it out without tangling it in order to achieve different line weights/thickness for my projects. I would recommend taping the end and using wide-eyed embroidery needle if you aren't going to thin it out. I had a bit of frustration with it catching on my fabric and the silver stuff tearing off, but I found that if I used shorter strands and was more gentle when separating the pieces that it really didn't shred at all. It is very sparkly and has a bright color!

I got this for a project, it is beautiful and do I like it and will be ordering more and other colours. But it is harder to work with. If you are new to embroidery just take into account that it isn't as smooth as normal cotton thread, and it unraves super easy. But it wouldn't be something that would be impossible for newcomers to use as long as they are patient.

The colors are pretty and what I wanted since I plan to use 1-2 threads from each strand to add to flat colors and make my hand embroidery design subtly shimmery. A star for that. It was more expensive than I expected to pay but to avoid going into a craft store to get just the colors I needed, I decided to get this delivered to me and they are decently strong. 2 star for those. I am disappointed though because so far, 2 of the colors were not a whole, single strand but 2 strands tied together to make it longer. It's true I probably don't need the full length but I feel like that was a bit deceptive and cheap of the company to do. Instead of cutting another whole one, they just took 2 excess strands and tied them together. I appreciate not wanting to waste any but I feel it's deceptive. If it had been marked as salvaged pieces and discounted, I wouldn't have minded but I expected new, whole strands. Having to wrap multiple strands onto the floss holders is not fun.

The strands may come apart if used for sewing - but they work fine for weaving. Adds some bling to the warp. May not hold up as a weft. Because it's a bit thicker than regular DMC, I felt like the total amount/length per skien was less than standard colors.. Overall, I'd buy this again.
