This is my 2nd hammock; last years was cloth and easily turned green when left outside for prolonged time (instructions said to bring it in...but who does that really?) Anyhow this year I bought this one after reading more reviews...yes it costs more but it has been through several rains and a few months with no deterioration of fabric. It is very comfortalbe for 2 people especially when lying with your head on opposite ends. A pillow might be a nice addition. The ropes and chains that came with it are great.. Replaced a standard rope hammock. Not a good replacement. First, when it rains the water pools in the middle, it takes a while to dry. It dries faster than a rope hammock but it still takes time. After a few months the wood at the end is warped and looks horrible. Because its one piece, it is not the same feel as a rope hammock, its a different “feel”. I have a difficult time getting on the hammock, but my grandchildren have no problem with that. They love it. My dog also loves the shade it provides and can be found underneath it as the temperature raises.

I purchased this hammock for all of its wonderful features, quick dry fabric, big enough for two, etc. but the listing lead me to believe it would be new not USED. It clearly has wood filler smeared on it to cover up scratches as you can see in the pictures. I dont mind buying used items, I have before from Amazon, but it was listed as USED. Paying for NEW I'd expect it to be without repairs. ... show more

I got this to replace a fabric hammock. This is much easier to clean (birds are messy) and dries faster. Very comfortable and not too hot to lay on in the summer heat.
