Short and sweet: Holds a 300 lbs person with ease Comes with a pillow Easy assembly Canvas hammock has a 'breaking in' period Check the bolts before/after use Long ramble: For many years I have toyed with making a hammock my bed and finally made the leap. The stand was really easy to put together and assembled in less than 20 minutes. I will say it's a lot bigger than I realized, so if you're hoping for this to be a space saver think again. From tip to tip its a little over 9ft long which makes it hard to maneuver once put together. The hammock itself is beautifully made with sturdy stitching and metal reinforced loops at the end to keep it from wearing down too fast. It's also incredibly easy to disassemble. I did think the hammock was too short for the stand at first, I could only reach the first rung of the height settings, but I decided to give it a shot anyways. The first night was comfy but I woke up with my butt scrapping the bottom bar, canvas stretches y'all! and the hammock now can go to the second notch. So this hammock has to go through a breaking in period but honestly I don't mind it. I'm so comfy and I woke up with my cat and dog surrounding me so this thing is sturdy I am by no means a light person (I clock in and almost 300 lbs) and it didn't so much as groan or creak in protest. I will say you need to be smart, after/before use make sure everything stays tight. Some of the bolts loosened after first use, but as I check it over it happens less and less as the stand kind of settles and breaks in. The stand can seem wobbly but as soon as there's weight in the hammock it becomes solid and I think that's fantastic, it seems to use the users own weight to make the tension of the hammock add to it's sturdiness. ... show more

I bought this for the kids to use to enjoy the back yard. It arrived as scheduled and was not hard to assemble. I think it took about 10 minutes. It comes with a little pillow, too! We got this for our back deck to relax in. We were specifically looking for a hammock stand that was around $100, had a decent weight capacity, and came with its own hammock. We do have camping hammocks we could use in a pinch but those are more designed for hooking up to trees. This thing was a snap to put together once we figured out how to assemble (instructions are kind of meh, and located on the actual carry case). We didn't have any issues with the bolts not threading through the holes, everything fit together as it was supposed to. The hammock itself will need a bit of stretching the first time you hang it up, but after a few uses it's much easier to move to the lower heights. It's also very light and has a carry case to easily take camping or to a beach. Other reviews have mentioned a musty smell, which there is a slight odor but to me honestly just smells like outdoor fabric/canvas. Also, be aware that this style of hammock is meant for cocooning in and wrapping around you. It does not have a spreader bar at the ends to keep it wide spread. We prefer this style as it feels less tippy, but it does cut your peripheral vision because it comes up around your head. My major concern was sturdiness of the frame, as us being 300+ lb we didn't want to worry about smashing to the floor. So far it seems fine in that respect, but there is a lot of play as the steel poles will flex with weight so although I don't think it will bend out of shape or break, it doesn't feel exactly "solid." Once you have been in it for awhile after first using it, get out and readjust the screws holding it together as they will tighten further for better fit, like most furniture. Overall, we are really happy with this. Our friends who have used it also enjoy it. It's excellent for relaxing, sturdy enough for larger people, and light enough to move easily. I had this put together in 5 minutes and have been loving the next 4 hours. I can sit in way to many positions to be comfortable, wrap my self like a mummy or spread it out! It comes apart in minutes to move. The best! BTW I am 6 ft 175lbs, I wanna sleep here tonight!
