The media could not be loaded. Terrific roll-up blinds. As easy as it gets for installation; takes less than a minute...most of that time is unpacking the blind from the box and bag. Even though the blind was way too small for the opening and had gaps on both sides, They absolutely are blackout...at least as close as you can get without side track seals. The video shows how well they block the light and how easy and smooth they go up and down. With one finger, and barely pushing, it goes up smoothly and, stops and stays there. No real effort going down either. The best action of any blind that I've ever used. I could tell the difference in the amount of heat coming in through the window. It , very effectively blocked the radiant heat from outside. I had to have the window open to feel that difference, as the windows in my home are already low-e, Thermal, double pane, windows. Unfortunately, that window opening is 50-3/4" wide: It seems as though they only sell these at a maximum of 48", so that is what I ordered for this evaluation. There is a 1-1/2 block used as a spacer on one end and the adjustments for the tensioners are at maximum. I only have two windows in my home that are 48 inches or less--bath and kitchen. If I make some brackets that will allow me to use two shades side by side (or if the manufacturer included such a bracket--Hint--Hint,) then I'd be very happy to use these blinds throughout my home. Using removable adhesive strips, form3M, like the ones they sell for hanging pictures, to attach the brackets, would keep with the no damage/removable concept the the manufacturer has, thankfully, adopted. Also: the adhesive is good on the valance strip, however, It would be much better if they used a Velcro strip instead. Again, removable.... At this price point I feel that they could address both of those suggestions...Anything that increases your customer base, for a minimal cost, is a good thing Most of the window openings in my home have multiple, individual windows, so multiple shades to cover each window makes allot of sense.. I definitely give these roll up blinds my recommendation. They are very well designed and manufactured. They also have a nice sleek look to them...I'll probably remove the pull ring from the bottom bar as it is not needed and, to me, the blind looks better without it; it just pops on and off, anyway. Compared with ones that I've had before, these don't look like a cheep afterthought...utilitarian. They look great.

The media could not be loaded. I really like how they work. No screws. No nail holes. Nothing! To place them you only need the tiny wrench that is included. There are about 3-4 steps total in the placement process. I recommend having someone with you because as you're holding it up, you also have to start tightening the ends with the wrench. That required me to have another set of hands. Make sure after you place the rod in your window frame you start tightening the left side DOWN, and the right side UP! They have to tighten OPPOSITE of one another. The instructions state that but it is easily overlooked. After they are tightened, just check the rod and make sure it's stable. Then you can slide the two end pieces over the rod ends to cover the extra gap area that you extended. Then place the sticky cover over the rod. That's it! You will also see that the front of the cover has a different texture than the back so make sure you do not accidentally hang these backwards. Check that before you start tightening. *fore reference and help if you're confused on what size to buy: our window is 46 1/2" wide and we went with the 46" rod. These tension rods allow you to extend an extra 1" larger than your measurement so the 46" rod would go to a 47" or maybe even a tick more. We easily had more extension to go over our 46 1/2" with the 46" rod. That is what I want people to know in case you're not sure what size to go with. It does state in their description below how to measure but it can get a bit confusing. So, just to be clear for another example, if you have a 35 2/3" window frame, you can buy the 35" rod and it will be enough. Just make sure you measure exactly where your rod is going. So don't measure the very inside edge depth of your window frame if you're putting it right up against your window bc window frames can be different measurements from the inside against the window, top of inside outer edge frame, bottom of inside frame, etc. We have a foot deep window frame where we put these and inside the frame up against the window was a slightly different measurement then on the inside of the frame but right up against the outer edge window frame. This is a very quick and easy install. After taking it out of the box, I think I installed it in about 10 minutes and that's including the time to read the directions. They included a small wrench to adjust the tightness of the shade once you select where you want it. I found I did not even have to use that, it was just as easy to just tighten the large plastic nut with my fingers. The directions includes nice pictures of which direction to tighten the nuts and I suggest you look at that twice before tightening yourself so you get it right. Also, make sure you get the shade secured and exactly where you want it before applying the top piece of fabric/baffle that hides the back shade (last step in the directions) otherwise it may be more difficult to adjust after. The shade itself operates so amazingly smooth compared to the standard pull down shades I am used to. It is very good at blocking light and it looks great installed in the window. It can be opened or closed with just your pinky finger it glides so smooth. This is a quality shade at a reasonable price to give your room a more modern look.

Installed this in about 10 minutes—no drilling, super straightforward. The roller mechanism feels solid and stops exactly where you leave it, which I love. Light blocking is excellent—total blackout, just what I was looking for. Looks great too. Definitely planning to grab more for other rooms.
