The shades are darker than what is pictured, more of an orange-brown rather than natural. While they still look good, my preference was a lighter, natural shade. That said, the shades are a nice quality and the mechanism to raise and lower seems sturdy. A bit of light does peak through which we like. The installation was simple and easy. Very easy to install, looks great. I like that there are no pull cords, you just pull it down to lower, lift to raise and it just stays put. I'm holding back 1 star only because the ends are cut and remain unfinished, which really stands out against the dark color (mine are espresso color). The color is just what I wanted. I recommend using a dark stain touch up marker to touch up the ends so they match the rest. I used Minwax red mahogany, which is a good match. Looks MUCH better with this little detail taken care of. I also touched up the cut ends of the wood mount. Now it all blends nicely and looks finished. The close up picture shows "in progress" the touched up ends vs. the untouched ends at the bottom. Also the final product. Nice product, but requires a little stain touch up to get the finished look. Would buy again with that in mind. ... show more

I love these blinds. For not being custom ordered, I was able to get 20 inch wide blinds by 64 inch long. The inside of my window is actually 18 inches but to order custom blinds to fit inside was going to cost me over $200. These blinds were a great value for the money and mounted easily on the outside and provide wonderful shade and privacy. I love the medium brown color, they’re not too dark or too light, they are just right for what I was looking for. There are no chords hanging on the sides, as they are Roman shade that goes up easily by placing your hand underneath the bottom of the shade and gently pushing upward. They go down by gently, pulling on the bottom of the shade. Hopefully the chords on these, given the amount of up and down for daily use will hold up for quite some time, but so far I absolutely love them and like the way they give my room a more dressed up look. They were easy to install, only two mounting brackets with a screw on each end and a fly nut. They come with a built-in valance that gives it a nice finished look. I’m very pleased with these shades and found them to be a great value for the money. ... show more
