Perfect to block the hot summer sun, I used extra strong Velcro that I bought separately. The Velcro that came with it kept falling of the wall. I didn’t let that change my review of 5 stars cause it is any easy fix with different Velcro. For the price in comparison to the other Amazon options, I AM IMPRESSED. It seems cheaply made but let me tell you.... it DEFINITELY blacks out... for comparison i posted Picture of my other "black out curtain".... same room.. same time.. same light... You see the difference. I'm DEFINITELY ordering more You have to assemble the product...ie put the Velcro together and roll the tube up.I didn't cut mine Bc I'll be moving windows when I move my baby to the nursery.... still WORTH THE MONEY ... show more

Last update… So I’ve had it with this! Just keeps falling. I even stapled the velcro to the inside of the window so now the shade is unsticking itself from the other piece of velcro. I think if there was better adhesive it would work. Like I said below it’s goopy. If it touches anything like the fabric when it falls it’ll leave a sticky spot. The only other solution is to sew on the other piece of velcro to the material so now I’m at the point if I have to do all this work I might as well make my own. Update… So a couple of hours after my review the shade started to come unstuck from the window and the velcro strip was a little off like slid out of place on the shade side. It is super sticky but perhaps to goopy like so it slides and then falls off. I’ll figure out a solution. Possibly tack it since it can’t be seen anyways. 2 hours earlier…So I did expect a little more in quality because of the price but I am really pleased with it. I already have wood blinds in my window and needed something behind it to block out the light to sleep and cut out some draft when cold. It’s great for my need. It’s a simple piece of material with a black backing, a strip of velcro to mount it, and two clips to keep it rolled up. Simple! My only hope is that if it’s two layers of material they stay together in the future unless maybe it’s a coating on the back. Hard to tell. It’s very easy to roll up by hand. Ideally it would be nice to have a string but I’m fine with it. I wanted something simple without bulk and without worry of some mechanical failure in the future like roller shades happen to me all the time. It’s really easy to let down. I’m only using one clip, it works just fine. For me it was worth the purchase. ... show more

Let me just start by saying these are extremely cheap “blinds.” As another review said, they are a bit thicker than a trash bag. It is simply a piece of fabric that you use double sided tape to stick to your wall, then put in some pieces of plastic tubing at the bottom so that you can roll it up a bit easier. It’s held in place by clips. With that being said, they do keep the light out and they are easy to install. I got mine for about $10 and for that price they are great for an apartment or a room where you don’t care about aesthetics. ... show more

We are using this blackout shade over the Christmas Season to cover an upstairs window that we don’t normally cover. This shade blocks the glare of Christmas lights at night and the sun during the day while we have company staying with us. This shade was very easy to hang. We are pleased.

It’s the prettiest but I have autistic child who has broken every blinds or shades in her room but with this affordable and easy to install shades that I can machine wash and she can’t break I found a winner! Wish I could’ve found this sooner

I do not recommend getting this product at all. It was $20 and made out of the cheapest material. I swear the material is cheap like I could have gotten out of the dollar store. It lowkey is the material of those heavy duty black garbage bags. They out of line for this.
