  • Excellent Robot Mower Excellent Robot Mower
Style: NEW Edge-Cutting + APP
The LawnMaster OcuMow R1600 Robot Lawn Mower is incredibly well made, very simple to assemble, and once the boundaries are set with the magnetic strips it works flawlessly. It comes with the Operator’s Manual – with has 65 pages elaborating on every little detail along with a few pages for notes. It also includes a large quick guide for the easy assembly. (PICTURE 1) The platform comes in 2 sections that snap together (PICTURE 2). The tabs highlighted in white circles need to snap in place – that’s a little tricky but then all sections snap tightly together. The mounting holes are highlighted with red circles. 5.5” Screws are included with a Hex Tool to get them flush with the mat. PICTURE 3 shows it snapped together. The rectangular holes at the top are where the Station snaps in. PICTURE 4 shows the Station snapped in. The plug highlighted in the red circle is only about 7” long, but it has a 32.8 feet extension cable (PICTURE 5). The power cord is 3.5 feet long with a similar short cable. (PICTURE 6) Everything immediately comes to life as soon as it’s connected. The green light and wi-fi settings show all is good (PICTURE 7). When the Robot is charging the green light blinks for 2 hours. The LawnMaster flap lifts open to insert the battery as shown in PICTURE 8 & 9. Set the Robot in the Charging Station (PICTURE 10). This now becomes its home. Whenever you push the ‘Home button’ it returns to the charge position and remains there until you tell it to mow. There are 4 rolls of magnetic strips (PICTURE 11) – and each is 16.4 feet long. The Robot mows within these boundaries and does an outstanding job. 40 pegs are included to set the strips in place. It comes preset to 3.1” (PICTURE 12) and I have left it in this setting. It can be set as low as 1.2”. Once it is charged and the magnetic strips are in place. In PICTURE 13 take the Robot to the mowing area; push the Power Button – the Start button – and then the large inner circle. I have the Station in the mowing area, and it has always worked flawlessly. It only has a 7” cutting width but the battery is powerful and it cuts every inch of 861 square feet each setting. If your area is up to 1615 feet the Robot remembers where it left off and will finish the rest. 3 blades are securely attached on arrival and there are 6 additional blades with screws included. I don’t understand how anyone could give it less than 5 stars. Its sensors avoid wasting time bumping into things. It has numerous features and settings that go way beyond any standard type mowers – rain sensors, schedules and many others. I am thrilled with this and highly recommend it. I have it scheduled to mow weekly, and the Robot has always functioned exactly as it should. ... show more

  • Improvements over the older model, kept the good features Improvements over the older model, kept the good features
Style: NEW Edge-Cutting + APP
They seemed to have listened to some feedback on the older model. That's something really nice to find in a company supporting their products or at least trying to improve for the future. The mower now does a good job with getting closer to the edge. The older model would avoid it pretty specifically, which was a bit on an annoyance. This makes this much more functional as a replacement as opposed to a helper while mowing. They have included more magnetic strip. Which is essential if you want to keep it out of areas that it shouldn't be. The boarder detection works fairly well, but if you need to keep it away from larger slopes or things like that then you need the magnetic strip. When putting down the strip, do use the included clips and kind of just lay it on top of the ground. I thought I'd be able to get away with digging it a few inches down and covering it over, that didn't work for me. Blades are easy to change, keep in mind they are still supposed to swing when you have them properly attached. I was glad to see a bonus pack of blades and screws come with the unit. It was tough finding out which other brands worked with this brand for a reasonable price. That being said, unless they hit things, they seem to stay sharp a good long time. So more of a maintenance than a thing you need to change all the time. Much like a regular mower blade. Maybe I haven't figured it out, but the app I'd still like to see more of a drive a remote control car style interface. Hopefully something like that will be pushed in the future. The pictures I took, one the battery, if you have a really big yard, you may want to get an extra or a backup. The nice part about these batteries is that they are interchangeable through their line of yard tools. At least the ones I've found. While you want enough batteries for each device, well I don't need my tiller battery while I'm mowing, so I can swap if needed and I haven't charged them. The robot does a pretty good job of finding the base. Not like how old robot vacuums couldn't find the base. That's helpful. I think it might send a pretty good signal out to it when it is looking to recharge. Living with close neighbors means you have obstacles that other more wide open spaces may not have to deal with. Do buy more magnetic strips and batteries if you find them. The robot itself, seems pretty robust for such a plastic unit, I feel if well kept it will probably give quite a few seasons of use. Minimally it'll keep your yard looking a bit more kept if yo don't have time to mow or do yard work. That in itself makes it well worth it. After a few mows, this pays for itself compared to having someone mow it for you. So pretty much anything past a season is money back in your pocket, especially if you were someone considering paying a service. Good mid tier lawn mowing robot. ... show more

  • Big Disappointment
Style: NEW Edge-Cutting + APP
Midwest Mike nailed it. He hit every one of my complaints. So I won't waste time in repetition. I have a small, fenced-in dog yard, but currently no dog. Can't get my lawn tractor through the gate, and my 30 year old walk-behind finally died. Yard is maybe 30 X 100 ft. So I bought the cheapest robot mower I could find. Big mistake. Chinese crap. ... show more

  • Hands-Free Mowing Without the Complex Setup Hands-Free Mowing Without the Complex Setup
Style: NEW Edge-Cutting + APP
If the thought of burying boundary wires across your entire yard has kept you from buying a robot mower, this optical navigation robot mower is the solution you’ve been looking for. It’s designed for simplicity, making it a great entry point for smaller yards. Key Highlights: Wire-Free Navigation: The standout feature is the camera-based system. Instead of complex perimeter wiring, it uses a wide-angle camera and ultrasonic sensors to identify grass and avoid obstacles like lawn furniture or toys. True "Drop and Mow" Setup: You can essentially take it out of the box, charge the battery, and let it get to work. It’s ideal for those who want autonomous mowing without a weekend-long installation project. Magnetic "No-Go" Zones: For areas like flower beds or gravel paths, it includes magnetic strips that act as a virtual fence. It’s a much easier way to customize your mowing area compared to traditional methods. Impressive Slope Handling: Don't let the compact size fool you; it handles inclines up to 35% (about 19°) quite well, which is better than many other budget-friendly models. Performance Notes: Edge Maintenance: Like most robot mowers, this unit won't cut all the way to the very edge of your lawn. You will still need a trimmer for a perfectly manicured look along fences and walls. Daylight Operation: Because it relies on a camera to "see" the grass, it performs best during the day. Avoid running it at night or in very heavy fog for the most accurate navigation. Manual Charging: Depending on your specific model variation, you may need to manually swap the battery into a charger rather than the mower returning to a dock itself. It’s a small trade-off for the significantly lower price point and simpler hardware. ... show more

  • Pretty good as long as your lawn is free of tall weeds
Style: NEW Edge-Cutting + APP
I got the Edge Cutting option. It's pretty good as long as your lawn is well trimmed and free of tall weeds or trees. The edge detection does a pretty good job on raised edging, but can sometimes get confused with flat areas that are brown or greenish like walkways or sidewalks--especially when it's combined with a few weeds or a slope. Unfortunately for me, I have a lot of raised beds and a few trees, so there's a lot of edges that this robot needs to figure out. The pathfinding seems to get confused near my raised beds. It's also quite bulky, so when it avoids edges, it skips a lot of space--space that you have to go over manually separately. I had assumed that the remote control option allows me to control the mower like an RC car or specify the exact path, but unfortunately, that's not the case. The controls on the phone is essentially just the same as what's available with the control buttons on the mower. It's just a lot more convenient. It's a neat little robot, but I won't be bragging to my neighbors about it. However, it is an interesting conversation item. ... show more

  • Too much work Too much work
Style: NEW Edge-Cutting + APP
This does not work as expected. It takes forever to mow a tiny space. The section in the photo took at least three hours last night and I still needed to trim the 6 to 8 inches close to any boundary, including the sidewalk, the driveway and the street. It requires magnet lines to be laid out between mine and my neighbors yard all the way around my property, which is not that large, but still way more hassle than expected. Barely makes a noise which is great. The charge seems to hold up for at least an hour and a half or two hours. It does not stay connected to Wi-Fi and has trouble connecting to Wi-Fi unless everything is right together and obviously I can’t keep my modem outside. ... show more

  • Best for small yards
Style: NEW Edge-Cutting + APP
I have a smallish front yard at about 40' x 35' and I really hate to get out my push mower just for that. Also it seems to grow faster than the back yard so it needs mowing more often. This robotic mower is perfect for setting and forgetting it. It is easy to assemble and setup and the instruction manual covers all you need to know. I did have to put 2 sections of the magnetic strip down in two areas to mark the boundaries but for every other edge it seems to detect well and mows close. It mows the entire area on one charge and the results are great. It returns to the docking/charging station when it is done or low on charge. It seems well made and the three blades are easily replaced with standard robotic mower blades. ... show more

  • My Lawn Stays Perfect With Almost No Work From Me
Style: NEW Edge-Cutting + APP
When I first took this robot mower out of the box, I was impressed by how solid and well made it felt. The deep tread wheels looked tough, and the whole thing had a nice, sturdy feel without being too heavy. In real life, this little machine has been amazing. The edge cutting feature trims right along the boundary wire, so my lawn looks neat without me touching a trimmer. I love using the app to start it from my phone or check where it is. When the battery gets low, it drives itself back to the charging station, then goes right back to work. The optical navigation and ultrasonic sensors help it avoid toys, rocks, and even tricky lighting. I also set up a no go zone with the magnetic strips to keep it out of my flower bed. It climbs my sloped areas with no problem. This mower has changed my daily life. I no longer spend my weekends pushing a hot mower around. My lawn stays evenly cut and healthy from the fine clippings it leaves behind, and I get to relax or do other things. ... show more
