  • Nice Engraving
I ordered this around 2 months ago. I used it to cut wood, etch glass, stainless steel, slate, and tumblers. I am very impressed with the detail and accuracy that this unit produces. I do recommend the Air Assist. It made the finished product clean without burns. It took me around a hour to assemble. I had a question for their support. They were friendly and helpful. The Rotary Roller Kit is also a nice thing to have. 💯 Recommended ... show more

  • Once you finally figure out how to get it work it is awesome
The most challenging part is putting it together and getting working. But, once you do it's pretty awesome. I'm scratching my head on what else I can engrave. It's lasers and wood...Guys would love this as a gift! 8/10 I would recommend it. I hope this review is helpful.

  • Love it
I love this laser engraver. I have made so much stuff with it over the last year. It has helped up, it is durable. And it works really well. My only gripe is that it does not work well with clear acrylics. It's the wrong laser type for that. I would love to see a CO2 laser attachment available for this! ... show more

  • Good laser engraver/cutter for Beginners
Like some other reviewers, this is my first laser engraver/cutter. I was going for very basic features and I did not want to spend thousands on a machine not knowing if I was really going to use it beyond the initial reason for the purchase. I bought this particular engraver to make name plates for quite a few doors. At first, we were going to order engraved plates and when we added it up, it was going to be much cheaper to just buy the engraver and do it myself. The instructions are not the greatest, but if you are patient and reasonably good at DIY stuff, you'll be able to figure it out. I knew the plastic/acrylic engraving and cutting needed to be done in a well ventilated area, but OMG the smell is still really bad. I'm upgrading the ventilation even more and putting some air purifiers in the room. (we enjoyed the smell when we were engraving cedar planks, though!) I found it difficult to find settings for the various materials, so it really became a trial by error. Fortunately, I purchased enough materials to do sample engraving and cuts to figure it out, but I'm still working on cutting the plastic. The first settings I found online were 100% laser at 150 mm/min, but that caused the material to burn and warp, so I had to lower the power of the laser and speed up the cut. It takes many many more cuts. Engraving line by line does take a long time with this machine. The 2"x8" door plates I was making took about 40 minutes each for the engraving and cutting cycles. This was using line by line, so there may be faster ways of achieving the same results (but I'm still learning). If you are a beginner, this is a nice machine to learn on without investing a large amount of money. I will say, it is quite fun and I'm thinking about downloading some wood cutting templates to play around with cutting models, etc. ... show more

  • Doesn’t cut and not software friendly
One) you have to set the settings to Marlin to even get it connected to GRBL and Lightburn. Except for the piece of paper that only shows a few pictures on how to set it up. This machine almost made me give up all together. Marlin is an experiment software and the laser did so little. I had to return it and get a completely different one from another company and now I can cut and engrave so much stuff. This was so disappointing. Maybe mine was just a dud and maybe others have had luck. I just couldn’t do anything. It wasn’t me, it was you ... show more

  • Entry level laser engraver
This is my first laser engraver, so I'm not an expert. Assembly generally easy, the provided directions are fine and the assembly video linked from the product description is helpful. All the parts and tools you need are provided (although tweezers will help to lift the belts when installing the carrier). The parts and allenwrenches come in a small plastic toolbox, which is nice as well. The engraver connected to my laptop via the provided usb cable without hassle or needing to install a driver. LaserGRBL (the recommended software) connected right away. I did have to do some trouble shooting with LaserGRBL's configuration variables in order to get the laser to turn on. Time from unboxing to being complete with my first test pattern was probably around 2 hours. Focus is adjusted by moving the laser itself vertically; a gap spacer is provided. After trying various speeds and settings I've been able to get good detail for grayscale photographs on cardboard. I'm looking forward to trying other materials. ... show more
