  • Great laptop for students or light work
The Surface Pro 4 is perfect for everyday use, schoolwork, and light tasks. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and the screen looks great. Not the best for heavy gaming or editing, but excellent for notes, browsing, and streaming.

  • Could be great, but buying one is a huge gamble.
The product is greeat. crisp display, decent battery life and portability, and the optional pen works quite well. Its a great value for the money ... that is ... IF IT'S NOT DEFECTIVE! Several days into owning the product, I noticed some problems with the screen flickering. I google the issue and find out this is a common issue for this model, and its a hardware problem. Luckily Microsoft has basically admitted this was their fault and sloppy engineering. Its caused by insufficient cooling of the tiny fan over a powerful processor which heats the screen and causes it to malfunction. If I had known about this defect I probably would not have bought this product. Microsoft says it only affects a minority of product owners, and has offered to replace defective devices, but I have read now about people getting replacements that still suffered from the same issue. So it's a real gamble. If you get a non-defective device, i think this is very powerful and portable at a great price. If it'd defective its going to be a major pain. ... show more

  • Only buy the excellent condition version
Something you should know before buying this refurbished surface, or any refurbished item here on Amazon. At the top right there's a condition description. If it says "acceptable" no its not. If it says "good" it isn't. Only buy it if it says "excellent" condition. The excellent condition versions come and go, so if they don't have one, wait for it. They will come back. They also go on sale sometimes, so keep your eye on it. I got mine for 150, in excellent condition, and it IS in excellent condition. Like new battery, no dings, no scratches, no marks of any kind. The touch screen works great. I've had it for a couple of months-ish, and there's no problems at all. It works great! ... show more

  • Ok Purchase
I purchased this used Surface Pro 4 for my wife. I have had a Surface Pro 7 for a while now so I am used to the Surface. Shipping was ok, arrived on time, and was neatly packed. No issues there. Overall I didn't have any serious issues with the unit. I still think it was a good purchase however just want to chide the vendor for not doing a perfect refurbish. The unit when turned on seemed ok but I noticed that once the screen went to sleep the touchscreen went and you had to attach the keyboard to get back in the unit and then no touchscreen until you restarted the unit. I did some troubleshooting and realized that the driver for the touchscreen was corrupted. Once I got the driver problem sorted out, no issues thus far. So overall I still think it was a good purchase but I am surprised they did not discover this before releasing the unit to a customer. But I still think it was value for money because at this time I did not have the resources to invest in a new unit for her and I know the Surface to be good machines so I thought it best to invest in a used Surface than a new unit of another type. Let's see if I am right on that, lol. ... show more

  • Mostly Nice product
I have a love/hate relationship with Windows, but I still find it necessary for a few things.. I like the Surface as a tablet, and it works for those things that I must have a PC for. If you're used to an iPad, the Surface will be very heavy, though not uncomfortably so. It has an integrated keyboard for when you have to type, and the touch screen for when you don't. Both work great. The screen is large, with excellent definition and the sound from the tiny speakers in adequate for almost anything short of listening to music. The tablet boots quickly, always seems to find my wifi, and uses face recognition so that I don't have to type my password. The design and use of this tablet are easy, intuitive, and well thought out. My complaints are few. It is expensive--more so than I think it should be. It also comes with a few really annoying programs that microsoft wants you to use, that automatically run when you boot up. I got sick of those and disabled them. It also has Microsoft's annoying habit of updating, whether you want to or not. Eventually, it will update the operating system and the tablet will quit working. I'm sure this is Microsoft's way of getting you to buy an new one. Overall, if you're looking for a good tablet/pc that is portable and works well, I'd consider this one. ... show more

  • Like brand new.
I bought the product in "excellent" condition. It came enclosed in two thick boxes, super thick bubble wrap, and packing paper. The screen is perfect. I ran all my windows updates and it runs perfect. MAKE SURE YOU RUN UPDATES. The only issue is a scuff in the corner of the outer plastic which is just cosmetic. It did come with a charger. I was very on the fence after reading other reviews but I recommend this product. As of 7/28/23 this product is not able to run windows 11 due to the processor just fyi. ... show more

  • Most problematic computer I have ever owned
I have never had a computer with more problems than this one. Its appearance is great and the touchscreen works perfectly, but the amount of glitches and problems with turning on/off or using programs and websites far outweigh the good things about this product. I got this intending to use it for ArcGIS Pro and college courses. I experienced technical difficulties several times a week that prevented me from attending remote courses and completing lab work. The clock randomly stops working or displays the incorrect time and mayhem ensues if I turn it off or it dies. Good luck getting it to turn back on! It also randomly makes an electrical glitch sound when I am not even using it. Had I been aware of the multitude of issues this would have caused me last term, I would have returned it in a heartbeat. A few issues I assumed would be normal. Problems every single time the computer is used is not. An IT specialist could not find any viruses or malware that would cause these problems and nothing he tried to do fixed it. The problem simply lies within the computer itself. ... show more
