  • What a great fan/heater
Color: Black
Right off the bat, tower fans/heaters and small kids don’t mix. While it’s pretty stable, some kid is going to want to play with it, followed by yelling parents if it breaks in pieces on the floor, (it is only plastic, not metal.) I like towers over floor models because I don’t sit on the floor. I want to feel it while I’m on a couch or chair. First, the Fan mode. It’s pretty great and moves a narrow vertical beam of air right at you. 4-speeds; the 4th speed is almost too much from 5’ away, which is a good thing on a hot day. You’ll soon want to turn it down. It has an oscillating option, which I never like on fans; a steady flow of air is much better. Now the heater. I didn’t fully test this too much as it’s 82 degrees out. I just wanted to make sure it works. The heat comes out from the lower part, from 5” up to 15” from the floor. While this opposes why I wanted a tower model, it will keep your feet and legs warm. I guess they had to compromise separating the fan and heater, but it does let you run both at the same time. I used to have a smaller tower heater, and always put it in a stand so that the heat was at eye/body level when sitting. I can always put this on a stand too, (no kids). Power draw. At highest heat setting, about 13.6 amps, 1470 watts. Most homes have 15 amp breakers so you’ll probably want this on a separate circuit not shared with other gadgets. Of course, you have lower less power hungry settings, but you know how it is when you’re cold. All electric heaters are going to use a fair amount of power; there’s no “efficiency ratings” for them. All you can do is choose direct radient heat on your skin, or try to heat a whole room (obviously takes more power and a longer run time.) Radiant heat is good for sitting in one spot, watching a movie or reading, and you’re trying to keep your heating bill down. For just the fan, 44 watts to 32 Watts, high to low setting. My ceiling fan uses over twice as much power. Funny how they show a whole family gathered around it. The reality is this is more of a 1 or 2 person fan/heater, at least when it’s really cold (excuse to snuggle up) or really hot (quit hogging the fan.) ... show more

  • Good heater and fan, but built a little cheaply
Color: Black
First, it's a great fan and heater. I wish there were the option to choose a fan and heater speed independently but to run simultaneously (i.e. fan speed 1 heater level 1). Instead, the only combo mode you get is "HF", which is high heat and low fan. Second, it seems a little cheaply built, like the remote's going to wear out in under a year. And for around $100, I'd expect a little more. That said, it does a really good job of heating my home office, which is approximately 10 x 15 in a northern state during the winter. I haven't tested the eco thermostat mode yet, but with the remote it's easy enough to adjust the settings while I'm sitting at my desk. The only thing to pay attention to is how much power you're putting through your circuit breaker. At peak output it's 1,500 watts, which is about 12.5 amps. Most home circuit breakers and wiring can support 15 amps, so that means there's very little left for other things plugged into the same circuit. Just be careful to not overload it or you risk starting a fire inside your walls. ... show more

  • Review...and Question
Color: Black
Bought this fan in the winter, and it's now summer. Mostly I give it good grades. )Question if over buyers happen to read this: any DIY tips to make the damn hum go away? It's almost TOO quiet and I can hear that annoying motor humming.) As a heater it's dope. Does the job, warms up my small living room decently (especially if I'm directly in front of it). As a fan it's decent, but a few gripes: 1. It's almost TOO quiet. It's so quiet on the lower two settings that you can hear the hum of the motor which is actually much more annoying than the normal sound of a fan. 2. Oscillation is fine, but annoying that you have to click the remote to "activate" the remote, then hit again to change the oscillation setting (or any setting for that matter). Overall, as a heater I give it high marks. As a fan I'd rather have something else, but I ain't made of money. ... show more

  • Great space saver fan
Color: Black
This fan has earned its status. The AC went out the first week of school. The fan fits nicely and has a small footprint for their dorm room. The fan can oscillate or be stationary. There are 4 speeds to this fan. Works well. The remote has all the functions of the unit itself.

  • Great at heating, but some slight annoyances
Color: Black
Overall, this heater does a great job at heating a decent sized room, quickly. So 4 stars for doing what it should do, at a great price, very well. Minus 1 star for all the overall minor annoyances below. I primarily use it in my office which is ~10 x 15 feet and on the highest setting (out of 3), fills the room with heat very quickly. To the point where I have to turn it down because it's just too much. Feels pretty sturdy and doesn't feel like it would knock over with a small bump. The oscillation has a mediocre range if you even care about that. Didn't really matter for me since it just literally fills the entire room with heat so quickly. The remote is where this is lacking - the images on the button are difficult to see on the dark grey/blackish controller. And the buttons are not very distinct tactile-wise so good luck using this thing in the middle of the night, and good luck if you're an older person - they're gonna have a helluva time with it. The LED light display is SUPER ANNOYINGLY bright. Good luck going to sleep with this one in the room. I literally have to use a piece of cloth and wrapped it around the unit to block the LED display. Lastly, wish it had a better carrying handle, as i like to bring it from room to room as needed. Luckily the unit isn't super heavy, but it's cumbersome and would pose problems for weaker people. Overall, would still recommend because it does a quality job, but they could have made certain things better for sure. ... show more
