  • Great Fan!
Performance and air flow have been great from this fan. Thank you!

  • Good Fan
I love these little fans. I’ve bought multiple, but like everything else in the world, the quality seems to be going downhill. It’s still good, but not as whisper quiet as the ones I’ve gotten in the past.

  • Favorite fan
Recently bought this for the 2nd time. The original one has been in a west-facing window in AZ for the last 6 years, and the plastic was starting to get really brittle. So i moved it to an inside room to prevent further deterioration, and replaced it. The fan itself still works fantastically. It never got rattly or anything. Old and new pictured! You can see the only damage is the little guards breaking, so all it needed was to get out of the sun or have me stop handling it. ... show more

  • Lasted 3 years
Only lasted three years before it died, which wouldn't be so bad except it's mostly plastic and will be in the landfill long after I'm dust. It was a nice fan while it lasted. Too bad.

  • Just OK
I bought this fan to mount on my new elliptical trainer. I have one of the Air King 6" clip fans on my recumbent bike and I find it really helps keep me cool while exercising. I decided to give this fan a try as it is much less expensive than the AK. After hooking it up to my elliptical trainer I noticed that it was much louder than the AK. It was causing a howling noise much like the noise from a differential in a car. With a little investigation I found that it wasn't the fan itself that was making the noise. It was the large front panel on my elliptical was resonating due to vibration from fan. (I had the fan clipped to the top corner of the front panel). I moved the Lasko fan to a bunch of other places on the front panel and could not get rid of the annoying noise. Curious if the AK would cause the same resonance, I clipped my AK to the top of the elliptical front panel in the same place where the Lasko fan had been previously. Voila, no resonance, very quiet! Even though the two fans use exactly the same clip and mounting spindle, the AK was evidently transmitting a lot less vibration through the clip. So I then moved the Lasko to my recumbent bike to see if it would have similar noise issues there. Luckily the Lasko performed quietly (just fan noise) on the recumbent. My guess is that the vibration of the Lasko was not anywhere near the resonant frequency of the stationary handle to which it was clipped on the bike. Hence no resonance and no extra noise. My other comparison between the AK and the Lasko has to do with air flow. The Lasko on high speed is similar to the AK on low speed. On its high setting, the AK blows a lot more air than the Lasko. I don't know how to quantify it (50% more?), but it is very significant for my application where my body is typically almost 3 feet from the fan. My bottom line impression is that the Lasko is a decent fan for the money, but not nearly as good as the AK if one is looking for maximum air flow. It also seems that the Lasko transmits more vibration down through the clip, (perhaps due to less well balanced blades?), but this may only be an issue if you are attaching the fan to something that might act as a soundboard. I will probably not go through the hassle of returning the Lasko as it seems to work well enough on my recumbent, especially now that the warm weather is ending. If I had it to do over again, I would buy another AK even though it was more expensive. ... show more

  • I didn't like having to return it, but everything's better now..
It's missing the spring for the Clip Assembly, and as such can't be hung from things. And this I don't like. ======================================= Update: Amazon got me a "complete" fan in 2 days. Well done Amazon. As for the fan: it's sturdy and definitely gets a good grip on things - I have other models that don't grip half as well. It's quite and moves air nicely - it's more a breeze than a wind but even on the low setting it was gently moving leaves on a plants 10-12 feet across the room. The only issue I have right now is to figure out what the seller meant by "pivot" in the description. Did it mean the fan head can be both pitched up/down as well as pivoted left/right? Or is it that you can turn the whole fan left or right while clipped - that the clip assemble won't stop you? Of course, the instructions don't address it - actually there is no mention of pivoting the fan at all. Moving the whole fan left/right is OK as long as the surface you've clipped it to will accommodate the clip to move about. Being able to pivot just the fan head is very handy and I'm looking hard at the seam between the fan head and the clip assemble to see if there's a hidden button. ====================================== Final update: The fan head DOES pivot. The seam has notches on the clip side and the other side has 2 teeth 180 degrees from one another that fit nicely inside the slot. If you grab hold of the clip with one hand, and the fan head with the other, and pull them apart, the seam will separate allowing you to turn it to a new slot left or right. Nice, simple solution. The seller really should update their pitch to explain this feature. Thanks.... ... show more
