    • Simple, loud and just what I wanted.
I was looking for a loud fan, odd request you may think but I like fan noise when I sleep. This thing does the job and on the lowest setting it is not overpoweringly loud but you know it is there. It is a lightweight piece and assembles easily. It was what I wanted and the price was nice. Now I did put a speed control on it that I had laying around and that did dial it back a bit, winter fan usage is not the best thing but it does circulate the warmer air. The lowest setting is more like a medium on some other fans so take this into account. ... show more

    • Simply Amazed!!!Don't let the plastic fool you .. this fan is a BEAST!
I am simply amazed by this Lasko pedestal fan! When I opened the box . I was at first a little disappointed to see that it was completely disassembled and all plastic except for the pole and motor. I thought to myself "How can this plastic fan be of any quality?" ... Well this first impression sure fooled me!! The assembly took all but a few minutes ... and when I turned it on ... the air output is EXTREME! But in a very good way! This has more output than those fancy $300 Dyson blade-less fans.I have A/C but during those Spring months where the temperatures are still a little unpredictable .. I use this beast to cool my rooms. I know some people complain about the loudness of the fan .. but this is pretty normal with any fan that has high speeds. I enjoy the sound of fans especially while I am sleeping since it drowns out other noises. The extension of the pole is very easy and there are NO rattling noises with this fan! The power cord is on the short side when you heighten the fan ... just throw a power extension cord on it. I will be looking out for other Lasko products!! ... show more

    • I wanted a loud fan- couldn’t have asked for better!
As cold natured of a person as I am I get ungodly hot when I fall asleep so not only is a fan a must have to keep those demons at bay but I need something that screams at me while I slumber and this bad boy makes it happen. Between tinnitus and anxiety there’s just no way I can fall asleep in total silence and the tv is a major distraction. Those fancy tower fans are awesome, they blow like the arctic wind- but they hardly purr at all. THIS monster here though.. throw that sucker on 3 at night and it sounds like a jet engine firing up right beside your head. It perfect! Even the lowest setting makes for a pleasant distraction during the day. The only thing I dislike about it is the HUGE base, it makes it hard to find a good spot that’s out of the way but with the stress reducing noice production this fella puts out I could care less if it was attached to a 10’ cement brick I’m still getting my sleep at night. ... show more

    • Cheap and easy to assemble
If you're looking for one of those quiet artistic pedestal fans, look elsewhere. This one can sound like a propeller aircraft on the runway. But if you want a product that can last for ten years or more, moves a huge volumes of air and don't care what it sounds like, this is the fan for you. Since I have used previous Lasko pedestal fans before, this was very easy to assemble and I only had to refer to the instructions once. And yes, assembly is tool free for most people. For some people they may want to use a medium sized screwdriver to insert the outer grill. The new fan blade design moves huge volumes of air even on the low setting, so think about where you are going to use it before purchasing. Another new feature for me is being able to point the fan almost straight up which is a huge bonus for the all the seasons. ... show more

    • Lasko ain't what it used to be - STAY AWAY, OR TAKE A CHANCE... YOUR CHOICE......
we had a Lasko 18 inch pedestal fan , that lasted over 20 years.... easy to assemble, quiet, powerful.....I bought , in Shoprite, a cool comfort 16 inch pedestal fan, maybe 20 minutes or less assembly, very easy, works very well, for 20 bucks......also wanted an 18 inch blade pedestal fan, ordered a basic, no remote Lasko for 36 bucks.. on speakerphone for over one hour , while Lasko promised to get to me.... during this hour, I noticed that one of the connecting pipes was improperly milled, uneven flange, and bent, not due to transport damage, just made wrong.. also, the snap locks were OFF ,in one place around an eight of an inch of, between the two grills, so that one could get all of them together, EXCEPT FOR THE OFF ONE....which meant that we have here another manufacturing defect..... I KNOW how to put fans together- read the top of this comment... I DON'T CARE IF LASKO IS MADE IN PHILLY, WHICH IT IS, OR IN OUTER MONGOLIA.... THEY ARE NOT WATCHING THEIR MANUFACTURING LINE CLOSELY ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!! PEOPLE, STAY AWAY, AND ROLL THE DICE ON ANY OTHER BRAND.......ALSO, THEIR LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO KEEP YOU AWAY!!!!!!!!!! ... show more
