This is the first laser I have owned and I’m loving it. Despite being somewhat technologically impaired I have managed to make it work without any difficulties. Have used it on wood, knife blades, and stone. It has been a challenge on polished jaspers and obsidian do to the reflective surfaces but worked fairly well one rough rhyolite. It has been a ball to use on wood. Putting company logos on all the wood posts and signs I put out now. Easy to use it on large and cumbersome projects with its portability. I am absolutely blown away by how compact and light weight the unit is. It made me skeptical at first since I doubted anything this size could handle harder materials like stone (but it does with ease!). Second, the quality of build and intuitive controls make this a breeze to set up and start operating. As others have said, you can be up and going within 10-15minutes and that's taking your time. After doing some test runs on the provided materials (also very much appreciated), I set up a slate coaster to see how it would perform. Initially I had set the unit on too high a resolution (2k) and too small but once I figured out my mistake, the subsequent tester was so easy! A few things I wanted to bring up (not so much that they are issues as little grievances). The included hood with fan is much appreciated but it's so effective that I can not see the previews. I guess raising/lowering to view isn't too complicated, but I just want to be sure I'm not wearing things out prematurely. *EDIT* Customer service contacted me and explained how to adjust the brightness so previews are legible through the hood. Super easy adjustment on the app and I can't believe I didn't see it* Last, if it would be possible to have increments labeled on the laser's stand for quick reference, that would be appreciated (I used blue painter's tape to mark my settings for now). Overall, this has been a great investment. I have branded coasters (slate), leather patches, glasses and stainless mugs, and my phone cover with flawless results. It'd be hard to beat this level of quality at this price. You can certainly find cheaper units out there but why waste your time and money on inferior quality results. ... show more

I'm very impressed with the versatility of the LaserPecker. Setup is relatively easy depending on what you are planning to engrave but overall this is a nice litlle machine.

I had wrote a review a couple days back and at the time I was rather disappointed in my decision to purchase this. (LaserPecker 2) Received it, unpacked it, and assembled. No problem. When uploading the App be sure to get the one for the laserpecker 2. The instructions just states "Laserpecker". I found there is a difference. Same thing on the software for the computer. Laserpecker 2. Those are currently in a Beta version. On pairing the unit to your phone or tablet, you must do that through the App itself, otherwise it will not pair. Once paired than you can register your account in the App. They WILL send you a verification code to your registered email. Enter code and it "unlocks" the App. But make sure the unit is paired first before doing that step. App is basic. User friendly for most part. Did a few engravings with it and pleased with the results. I can see where this would and will be good for smaller projects. Only down side is the users manual. Lacks valuable steps needed for a smooth setup. Thank goodness for some YouTube videos 😊👍. That first night I was ready to send it back... Once I found out what the lacking steps was, I'm pretty happy with the engraver.. I know I've read alot of negative reviews on these units, but after experiencing what I did, I see why they left the bad reviews. Steps got left out of the manual. So have patience...So far its nice unit. ... show more
