  • Great little laser level, bright and rechargeable
I needed a basic, simple level reference for home projects.. I Already have a rotating head laser bought from elsewhere. Its a PITA to get level, eats batteries, and the red beam gets lost with light. The DOINOW is a great upgrade at half the price. I like the different design. Doinow did their own homework. Easy to recharge with usb port. Mounts to a standard camera stand (1/4-20 bolt) Can withstand falling from ceiling height, a few times..oops. Even came with a nice case. Obviously not the best level on the market. For being under $50. I can't imagine finding a better deal. ... show more

  • Really Cool Useful Tool
I really like the green laser level (it's the first green I've gotten - I already have a red laser level). The lines were bright and easy to read in our living room. I dig that you have horizontal, vertical and cross lines. The motion sensor atop the unit allows for you to wave your hand over it and it automatically switches between the orientations. There are locked and self-leveling modes, which is to be expected. A couple minor annoyances that I came across are: - The laser will flash every 5 seconds when in locked mode to let you know it's not in self-leveling mode. I don't understand why this is a feature (it's even mentioned in the instructions). Maybe I'll come across a situation where it's useful, but I just don't see it yet. - You can switch from locked to self-leveling by sliding the switch on the side. But when you switch from self-leveling to locked, the unit shuts off. It's actually listed as a method for turning the unit off. Why? There's a power switch on top. I'm a DIYer, not a pro, so I also don't quite get the point of the Pulse Mode. Especially inside. While the laser is nice and bright, easy to read indoors, it's clearly not intended for outside use during bright sun. In full sun from about 10' away I pointed it at my garage door, and the line was unseeable. In light shade, it was slightly visible. So just don't expect much if you take it outdoors. The case is a nice addition. It feels sturdy enough to protect the unit itself from accidental damage such as short drops and things bumping into it. Zippers are always a big issue with me, and this case's zipper falls short. It's not the worst I've seen, but it's not a quality zipper - probably a 3 out of 10. For a pro, I can see where constant zipping/unzipping will lead to failure. For the home DIYer like me, it probably won't ever be an issue. All in all, really glad I got this laser level. It will join the stable of useful home fix tools I have. ... show more

  • A must have for the DIYer
I ordered the Doinow 164 ft laser level after a failed attempt to install some wall panels left me with a seriously crooked result. I have multiple bubble levels, but this laser level takes the cake. I was initially daunted, thinking I'd have a tough time setting this laser up and that it'd have numerous odd settings that I wouldn't be able to wrap my head around, and this would end up being more of a headache than a help, but I was so wrong. This laser level is so easy to use. You fully charge it (the first time for 4 hours). Then, you slide the unlock switch on the side to turn it on. The line switch sensor (on the top of the unit) rotates different laser angles (horizontal, vertical, or both lasers at once). It'll auto-level itself. I found it to be very accurate. It is recommended that you charge the laser level at least once every 6 months if not used for an extended amount of time. There is a manual way to set the level in case you want to have this laser keep a diagonal (or other line angle). My only negative feedback on this laser is that the instructions failed to mention how to set up the laser with the holder and the green ruler-looking thing. I've got no idea what to do with those. But I do have a tripod, and that holds my laser just fine. Other than the above, I am very pleased with the laser itself. I'm not sure why I didn't get one of these sooner - but now that I have one, it's my go-to for my projects. ... show more

  • Really great line laser
I stopped using my $200 Bosch laser when I got this one. ✔ Green laser can be seen outdoors. So much better than red ✔ You can wave your hand over it to switch lines without bumping it ✔ Nice case. I hope the zipper lasts ✔ Well made and looks cool ✔ Controls are simple and intuitive ✘ ?

  • Must Read the Manual
Manual leaves something to be desired. -Says if not using for a long time to remove the battery. No where does it say how. Nothing on the device appears to be a battery compartment door. -Under the charging section, they put a confusing title of “Turn ON the laser tool:” I thought they were saying you have to turn it on to charge it. Don’t do that. -The instructions to turn off when in self-leveling mode says to slide the pendulum switch to “OFF”. Thing is, the word off is not on the tool. You slide it to the lock icon. -You have to read the manual to learn how to tell your battery charge level. It’s not obvious unless you are using the tool and see this red lit line that wasn’t red before. If it was red right out of the box, I would have not known it means something. Since there is no precise indication of battery level, charge it before you start work. Aside from these frustrations, it is a very cool level to use. I love the self leveling mode. It comes with a very nice carry case. However, the carry case does not fit the magnetic bracket so if you need to use that, remember it is not in the case. But then, neither is a tripod. 🤪 ... show more

  • Seems nice.
This seems to be a quality instrument. It looks a little complicated to use, and I'm waiting for my contractor buddy to come over for some personal projects before trying to use it. But I'm impressed with the appearance of the device and I suspect it will work nicely once I learn how to use it. After seeing it I would have guessed it would cost more than the $43 price tag at the time I ordered it. It comes with a nice case, charging cord, and a couple of things that I don't know what to call...! ... show more
