Description

This 230 ft./330 ft. 3x360 laser is the go-to jobsite laser. Now offered on the 20V MAX battery platform, this laser will seamlessly integrate with the tools you already have on the job. This long-reaching laser has a range of up to 330 ft. when used with a detector (sold separately). Achieve precise positioning with a fine-adjust knob and supreme accuracy with 1/8 in. at 30 ft. Use for a full work day with a 10 hour runtime when using a 20V MAX 2.0Ah battery (sold separately). I was already heavily invested in 20v dewalt platform but this is an item I waited a long time to buy and glad I have it. I'm not a dewalt fanboy, meaning I'm not biased by their name. 3x 360 green lasers have a lot of features it's hard to compare with a $30 1x360. As much as this item costs I would still suggest getting a heavy duty tripod and there are a few companies that make an adjustment Adapter plate you can fine tune and sneak up on putting something exactly where it needs to be. Seems really rugged but I would suggest leaving the pendulum locked when moving it around to prevent internal damage. Can be used outdoors in some of the ways you might use a rotary laser but I'd suggest grade rods and laser detector if you want to pull double duty. I almost got the 12v version a few times but saw the 20v was coming to market and glad I waited. If you kinda feel this product is $200 more than it should be I have those same reservations at 30,000ft but there are just so many ways to use one of these everyone needs one.... you can cast a line down the center of the ceiling in the hallway and measure from center of line to wall on both sides in several points then transfer them to a piece of wood or drywall and have a perfect fit for these NOT square/plumb/true houses or just set height of outlets, control start stop points for tile.... there is literally hundreds of things I used to do without a laser that now I hope to never go back. Time is money and this item definitely saves time and yields a better finished product for those with an eye for details. ... show more

So far it's amazing. I use it for calibrating ADAS and the lazer is strong. It's longer than expected but does not bother me as I can put a 8amp hour batter on it and not have to worry about battery life. Seems very well built and worth the money. Easy to use with the on off switch and the buttons to select what laser you want is extremely nice. The Case it comes with is also a plus and sturdy. ... show more

Great tool. Quite heavy with 4 or 5 Ah batteries. Nice bright lines (could be thinner, finer lines) and fantastic build quality. Super potent support magnets on the side. While the description says “tool only” it comes with mounting bracket (the biggest disappointment, see below), target card and a great carry case. You need to get the higher end package if you want battery and charger. Speaking of batteries, the on-battery charge indicator is covered when placed in this laser so DeWalt provides a great on-tool charge indicator. Win. This prismatic style laser is ideal when you need the laser in the middle of the workspace rather than just at one end. This can also effectively double the working range of the tool when compared to non-prismatic lasers in certain cases — a point rarely considered. The all-day battery life is a huge advantage. Bosch may make the best-regarded lasers but if you are already in the DeWalt ecosystem, I think you will be happy with this unit. Two things would make it better: 1) If it remembered your last setting and returned to that when you turn the unit off and then on again. A small quibble. 2) The-side-to side adjustment is nice but not nearly as needed as an up-and-down adjustment. The supplied bracket must be screwed a non magnetic vertical surface like a column and provides a steel plate that the laser’s built in magnets grip to. These rare earth magnets are so powerful that it’s really hard to move the laser up and down the bracket for fine adjustments. Also, because the thing is so big and heavy, it does not work with many aftermarket height adjustable brackets. You need to get a beefy one that may not fit in the (nice) supplied carrying case. A height-adjustable tripod or floor-to-ceiling stand pole may be the best option for some but a hassle to carry and store. ... show more
