We have tried a couple different IPL devices that are offered on Amazon and elsewhere, and this seems to fall in the mid-tier range, lacking some features of higher end devices and offering more than lower end devices. The device itself seems to be fairly well made and easy enough to use. It is larger than our other devices but fits in MY hand just fine. My wife has smaller hands and she says it's still comfortable but feels bulky. The cooling when running is noticeable and does help with the sting. It's not painless, but it's not painFUL. It's just sort of an annoying feeling. The instruction manual is OK, but does have some grammatical errors/translation issues. It does provide settings based on skin tone, area you wish to remove the hair from, and treatment number. Time will tell if it actually works but it seems promising.

This IPL laser hair removal device comes nicely packaged with a detailed instruction booklet. It works best for people with light skin and dark hair. There are a bunch of medical conditions with which one should not use the device, and several body areas to avoid, so it’s best to read the manual before using it. Also, wearing eye protection is important when using the device. Note that the instruction manual and advertising show different information for course of treatment. The manual says to use it every two weeks, while the advertising images say 3 times per week for fastest results. This is my first experience with this kind of device. I’ve had professional laser hair removal years ago, which was uncomfortable. The instruction manual says it should never be painful and to reduce the light setting if you feel discomfort. So far this has been a good experience. I will update if that changes.

I cant rate this. I didn't even use it and the reason is because ITS NOT MEANT FOR DARKER SHADES OF SKIN TONE to purchase. It would have been nice if they had said this on the box and not in the fine print instructions!. It was very upsetting to see after purchase.

I will admit that I have not tried any of these types of units recently. I've tried laser hair removal a long time ago and it was much different. You felt a bit of a rubber band snap with the old version. This one is painless and feels very heavy duty. I have not had to use the cooling feature. It comes with an instruction booklet that tells you how to set the unit based on the area you are working on as well as your skintone. You need to really sift through the instructions to learn the unit. I could not find at first how frequently to do the treatments, then I noticed that it had a plan laid out that showed what the treatments would be like every two weeks. Basically, it says that you do a treatment every two weeks, four times. So at the six week mark, it claims you will have results. I like that it keeps track of the remaining flashes. I did not see this in the instructions, but I assumed that this is what that is. The flashing light is very bright, so definitely wear some kind of sunglasses.

This unit comes out of the box with everything you need to use. A quick read of the instructions and it is easy to operate. Find the settings that work best for you and away you go. I've used this to go along with some professional laser hair removal done years ago and this unit isn't nearly as painful as the salon variety. The unit itself is a little larger, but still is easy to operate and works well compared to other cheaper alternatives and as a bonus has a cooling option. This is a great value for at home laser hair removal!

There are a lot of IPL devices on Amazon, and most are quite similar in terms of function. They may differ in aesthetics, and some have "ice" cooling while others don't. However, they are essentially just different versions of the same product. Having tested a huge number of IPL devices at this point, I can say from experience that this one falls squarely in the low/mid tier. Certainly worth considering if competitively priced. This is a mid-priced unit that adds ICE Cooling functionality but uses a low/modest power supply (36W). Specifics of this IPL device: ** Includes ICE skin cooling functionality ** LCD screen shows the number of flashes left and power level (1-5) ** Rated for 36W (lower range) ** Oblong shape. Wider than some, and not as comfortable to hold ** No focusing lenses ** Rated for 900,492 flashes To use the device, you simply run it over the area where you want to remove hair, making sure to expose all the hair follicles in that region. You won't see immediate results, as it requires multiple treatments over several weeks to achieve the desired outcome. But eventually, you should notice a significant reduction in hair growth in the treated areas. In the box, you get the tool, a power cord, a pair of eye protection glasses, a cheap disposable razor, plus instructions. Regarding the "ice" functionality, it is also known as "Local epidermal cooling." This feature can reduce the immediate irritation caused by the high-powered light. It is achieved through a Peltier junction semiconductor and a thermoconducting material at the head of the IPL device. This cooling effect is not necessary for efficient use of the device, but it may make it more comfortable for some users. This IPL is reasonably priced given the fact it provides IPL, though the lower 36W power supply could be better.
