LaScoota for teens - the plastic insert DOES pull out
Color: Aqua
I'm revising my review! My neighbor used a tap and die set to re-thread the ruined nut. He pointed out that the plastic insert was made to just pull out. I wish the instructions had made that clear. When I pulled gently, nothing happened and I jumped to the wrong conclusion. The scooter easily folds and unfolds and is lightweight, just what I wanted, but I was surprised at how rough the ride was. There's also a strange clicking sound every so often. I'll keep it and see how long it lasts. ****** I'm not a teen, I'm a woman who has used tools before. Seller: This message is for you. The scooter arrived the evening of 4/21/23. It looked good and was light enough for me to remove from the outer box and easily move around. The next day I took it out of the plastic bag and re-read the instructions. They guided me in how to unfold the front wheel – so far, so good! But then the problem began. Step 3 says to undo the handle clamp. Step 4 says to remove the plastic insert. But the insert is fastened in by a screw. The step 3 photo shows an arm up above, so I assumed that something on top had to be turned. Besides the clamp that could be released but not rotated, there’s a hole smaller than any of the tools that came with the scooter. When I looked at the scooter from the front, I saw the nut on the bottom of the screw. I tried turning it by hand, but it would turn only so far. One of the L-wrenches was the right size but was awkward to use in the small space. I figured out I needed to pull the stem higher to make room to get the tool into the end of the nut. But by then the nut was jammed and wouldn’t turn at all. So I can’t remove the plastic insert, which means I can’t insert the handlebar grips. All I want is for you to send me a new screw and nut, which are probably made especially for the LaScoota. I’ll need someone’s help where I live to forcibly remove the jammed nut, which will ruin it and maybe ruin the end of the long screw also. So please, send me those two parts or advise me otherwise on what to do. Thanks in advance for your assistance. I look forward to praising you for your easily unfoldable product and your customer service.

Great Entry Level or Kid Scooter, But...
Color: GREY
It's practically rideable right out of the box. You just have to insert the handle bars and adjust the stem height. Super Easy. The whole thing feels solid and sturdy without being heavy at all. I own a bike and wanted to add another low impact exercise to my routine. I figured this would be a great leg and glute workout. Here's what I liked: Good sized deck, comfortable handle bars, nice grip, easy to adjust stem height, kick stand doesn't interfere with the foot kicking on that side, easy to open and fold, light enough to carry and lift into my trunk with one hand. Here are my issues: 1. no suspension and the wheels do not do well over anything on the sidewalk. If there was a stray piece of gravel, the wheel would slip. The traction isn't great. 2. The rougher the surface the the more vibration you feel. This probably wouldn't be noticeable to a kid or teen or someone without joint issues, but my body was buzzing when I got off. It really is a good scooter, especially for the price, which is why I still gave it 5 stars. I just need something with good suspension and air filled tired to help mitigate the vibration. I think this scooter will work for most people and would still recommend it despite it not being a good fit for me.

Color: DARK
Bought the adult dark scooter to ride into work everyday. Parking at my work is extremely expensive, so I find free street parking and ride the scooter the rest of the way to the office. It easily folds and fits in my trunk and can stand up and slide in right next to my desk at work. The wheels are large so I haven’t had any problems with them getting stuck on dips or grooves in the road so far. There’s no shock absorption so I do try to ride on the smoother parts of the road, but that’s no big deal to me. 100% happy I bought this scooter. It cost less than 1 month of parking at my work 😳 and yes the picture of me is meant to be silly 😂😂 I had to. No regrets.

Great product, Great price
Color: Retro
I originally bought this scooter for myself, and hadn’t noticed that there were also “adult” scooters that were more suitable for me. Long story short, I kept it for my 7 yr old son, and bought another scooter for myself. Such a great purchase. Easy to carry, easy to put together, and to collapse back again. I literally use my scooter every day to ride from the train station to my office, and then my son rides it all the way home. Truly a great scooter company!
