Product was as promised. I painted mine to match cabinets. I attached to the kitchen quartz backsplash using two long pieces of 3M VHB TAPE. I may have used more than I needed but I wanted a strong attachment to the smooth surface of the quartz backsplash. The magnet is strong, and hold all knives well. However, how good a knife will attach will depend on metal alloy of the knife. For example a JA Henkels and Ikea knives attached stronger than a Dalstrong. Still, the Dalstrong attached well. Having the knives in the magnet bar makes them a lot more accesible than in a drawer. I should have done this before

I purchased this for the convenience of having my knives readily available when preparing foods and because it was a little longer then many I looked at and well built. I particularity liked the fact that the magnets are located behind the surface that contacts the knives which helps protect the knives from scratches better then the magnetic strips set into wood or plastic you see being used in a lot of magnetic knife holders. The fact that they supply a drilling template to help with mounting was a nice little touch. My only negative comment I can make (and it's a small one) is although the magnets are strong for most knives I do wish the magnets were a little stronger. I have several large professional knives that push this knife holders ability to hold the knife to its limits. I would have given it 5 stars had it not been for my one little con regarding the magnets holding ability.

Love the natural wood look of this magnetic knife (even though I don’t have any knives on display, haha). It looks and feels high quality, and has strong magnetic strength and heavy quality. I like how the 16” version is long enough to display and holds several items such as my kitchen shears and metal clips. It’s versatile and doesn’t have to hold only knives, which I like! Even though I have it attached to the wall next to my stove and sometimes have oil or food residue splash on to it, it’s very easy to clean and does not become discolored easily. There’s no actually wood grain indentation, so you don’t have worry about the wood corroding or getting water damage; it’s smooth basically. I don’t have to worry about any knives or other metal utensils falling on me so it’s pretty safe as well. The light wood matches my decor and the price for it is nicer than others listed on Amazon. I like how there’s no cheap logo engraved on the side that is displayed. I used a strong adhesive to adhere it to my wall rather than use the metal screws and hardware that came along with it. The adhesive I used is the EZlifego store (on Amazon) double sided mounting tape. It’s been mounted on the wall for two weeks now and not even a budge, so I highly recommend using this tape if you are unable to make any holes in your wall. I did a lot of research on different types of magnetic holders and the ones that come with an adhesive are usually not strong enough to hold. It’s better to buy your own strong adhesive. If you do choose this method, make sure that once attached to the wall to use a blow dryer for a few minutes to make sure the tape is securely pasted on. I waited 24 hours before placing any knives on to let it set in. I will update if it ever comes off! So far so good! :) very happy with this purchase!!
