Works well for making custom analog lines. I typically use CAT 5E and terminate just the blue pair for going from RJ-45 to RJ-11. Seems on par with other connectors I have used.

Most people who have to run analog phone lines at home do not need hundreds of RJ11 connectors. This modest quantity of 25 is fine for most such needs. Each of these RJ11 connectors can handle pairs (tip and ring) for two phone lines, with line one on conductors 2 & 3 and line 2 on conductors 1 and 4. Don't be shortsighted - populate both pairs. Even if you don't think you'll ever need a second line, you might be wrong. I'm now running Cat6 Ethernet cable for our network stuff, so I'm using the leftover, unused, thinner Cat5e for analog phone lines. The prevalent standard for color coding of Cat5/5e/6/etc. to an RJ11 analog phone plug is as follows: Conductor 1, Line 2 Tip: White with orange stripe Conductor 2, Line 1 Ring: Blue Conductor 3, Line 1 Tip: White with blue stripe Conductor 4, Line 2 Ring: Orange You could use non-standard color coding, but why do that? There are plenty of other ways to demonstrate that you lack pride in workmanship. If you have an RJ45 crimping tool, it may well have an RJ11 crimping ability, saving you from needed another tool. I see no problems with these. They are good quality connectors sold at a very low delivered price. ... show more
