I've had a Lane Recliner for close to 25 years that had served me well, but after 25 years it was having issues. I'd spliced things together, but it was getting beyond repair. I'm 6' tall and sleep in my recliner fairly often due to neck issues. I figured if I was going to get a new chair I'd get one that actually fit a tall person. This chair does that. Fully reclined my feet are still totally on the ottoman and my head is several inches below the top of the back. It's firm, gives good support, and is solid. The old chair always felt like it was going to tip over when I reclined it (and did several times with the help of the family dog). This chair doesn't even hint at not being stable. To some point I feel like "Edith Ann" sitting in it, it's so large, but there's room for the dogs and everyone is happy. I've had it about 4 months now and am very satisfied with it. ... show more

the reviews are correct - this chair is HUGE!! I am 5'11" and my feet barely touch the floor! But is is comfortable, very good support for my legs when reclined in the sitting up position - although I also have to agree the lever for the footrest is very difficult to move. I am hoping it will get easier as time goes on. the downside of this was the delivery. It was sent via freight with one driver and the chair on a palette. The chair is heavy - about 170 lbs and the delivery person was unable to move the chair much less get it in the house. He and my husband got the chair wrestled up on the sidewalk and then the driver just left it there - and left the palette in the street! I have fibromyalgia and my husband is 69 and has arthritis - how the delivery service ever expected us to get it in the house I don't know - but he left it there...oh, did I mention it had started to rain?? We unboxed it and managed to somehow get it in the house - trying to put the back on was crazy - the directions were useless, thank goodness my husband had the tools (a clamp) and patience to put the back on - you definately need two people for that! but the chair is a dream to sit in - very happy with it, but won't be buying any more furniture from Amazon in the future! ... show more

This is a great chair in all. But it was delivered with a small torn area as seen in the pic. This was not the fault of the delivery people as it was noticed as coming out the box. They took pics as well. Not too pleased with an expensive chair coming damaged and most likely knowingly sent in this condition....dissappointed ... show more

One of the most comfortable chairs I have ever sat in. Would have given 5 stars if not for the fact I either have to get someone else to put foot rest up for me, or pull my shoulder out trying to do it myself.*update* I ended up getting one of those handle extenders and it was a life changer. I can now get foot rest up much easier. I don't think I have ever had a more comfortable chair for my legs. Some recliners end up making the backs of my legs ache, and I have to put a thin pillow underneath them. This one makes my legs feel so good. I will be purchasing another for my bedroom as I sleep in a recliner as well. ... show more

The instructions that come with the assembly of the recliner are awful! Tried to go online to the website that are included in the instructions and the website is under construction. The delivery company was supposed to call 1/2 hour before it was delivered and they never did, luckily I was home to take the delivery. Also they did not bring it into the house so my husband and I had to bring it in ourselves and it was very heavy. It took 3 people to get the chair together since it didn’t match up correctly. Also the color Brown which was ordered is a very dark brown. Doesn’t look like the picture shown. ... show more

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and construction of this chair. It seems heavy duty and we hope it will live up to our expectations. The fabric is soft and the chair itself is comfortable to sit on. It is a BIG chair and even a 6’6 guy seems small sitting in it. It came in two pieces and it was a bit of a challenge finding the sweet spot to get the two pieces together. Otherwise, our initial impression is very positive. ... show more

I wish it had swivel capabilities. The lever to operate the foot rest is SOOO hard to operate for this seasoned citizen. I have to put up the foot rest and then flop into the chair. I have a Lane recliner that I bought in 1997 that finally wore out, and the company that bought out Lane Furniture is no longer supplying repair parts for it. So I needed to buy a new recliner. I was reluctant to purchase a recliner without first sitting in it. Had I sat in this chair prior, I probably would not have purchased it. This chair is immense. It is easily six inches higher than my old recliner. With the footrest in the up position, it is almost level with the top of the arm of our sofa. If you are not tall, you may not want this chair. I'm 6' 1" and my feet do not touch the floor, and I have to work to get my butt back to the seat back. It is quite comfortable. Now for the bad part. It took more than three weeks beyond the expected delivery date for it to arrive. When you make the purchase, you set up your delivery date and time. That date came and no chair. So I had to bring the old recliner back in. Contacted Amazon support and set up a second date. No chair again. Contacted support again. One of their sources said the chair was in Hagerstown, Maryland and the other source said it had not yet been shipped. It had not yet shipped. After the third interaction with Amazon support, we finally got some good data. Chair finally arrived three weeks after the original scheduled delivery date. The information on the original purchase said the chair would be delivered and assembled at the first dry spot inside the entryway. Well, it was delivered, but I had to assemble it. Fortunately this 60 year old man knew how to put it together, and after struggling to get all the pins and slots lined up I got it together. I also purchased a third-party extension for the recline handle, and I would highly recommend that extension. You're reaching over a very tall chair to get to that handle. It will fit the bill, but boy, is it BIG! ... show more
