I don't know why I'm reviewing this because Amazon probably doesn't sell it anymore. They don't seem to sell a lot of good quality products anymore.. so this coat is really cute really well made really comfortable and keeps me warm. It's well worth the price. I wear it in the snow with long underwear and a shirt. I washed it in a washing machine on gentle and dried it on low in the dryer. It came out like new. I didn't wash the hood because it says to do that separately because of the fur lining. The furlining looks great. I just haven't tried to wash it yet.     • This jacket is comfortable and works nicely, but has some flaws

I came into this expecting something different than what I got... I am a long time fan of Lands End jackets. I have a blue down jacket that I purchased from them over 10 years ago and I still wear it and love it. However that jacket was a goose down jacket, and over time the feathers have come out little by little, and I've ripped a hole in it (which I patched up with some clear nail polish) and it just doesn't keep me warm in that really cold weather like it used to. I came into this looking for another heavy jacket that can handle the super cold negative degree weather that we sometimes get in New England, and my 10 year old jacket used to be able to handle no problem but doesn't anymore. I sometimes go snowmobiling in cold weather and need a jacket that can handle that kind of cold activity. This is not the jacket for that. First, It is much lighter than my older jacket (even though it is longer.) The heaviest thing about this jacket is the fir trim on the hood that DOES NOT COME OFF. You have to take the entire hood off and cannot take (what feels like) the 1lb fir trim off the hood at all. second, It is very comfortable and fits me well. I like the length and the pockets, but it's not as warm as I expected it to be. If I had to gauge it I would say that it is warmer than my $20 light Walmart packable down jacket, but colder than my 10 year old heavy down jacket. ... show more

I love this coat. It's not ad warm as my other lands end was but it's still warmer than the other puffy coat I have. It's pretty warm still It's just not so warm when the wind is blowing. LOVE THIS JACKET. I've been on the hunt for a reasonably priced jacket ever since I saw the kickstarter for North Aware's "Inspector Gadget" jacket. I loved the concept of their jacket, but was not about to pay $$$$$ for it. Know that it takes about 5 minutes for it to puff up once out of the package. I was slightly disappointed when I first opened it and saw how flat it was only to forget it had been vacuumed sealed and it made of down...D'oh. FEATURES: While this jacket has only 3 pockets, they are generously sized (2 inseam zippered/fleece lined pockets on the outside for hands, one interior pocket with a snap that is DEEP). Soft elastic interior sleeve cuffs. Nice touch and keeps there from being a draft between your gloves and arm. The double zipper feature is something this jacket has ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ , though I'm not sure when I'll use it. I've never been one of those people to put on a jacket and walk around without it zippered or buttoned all the way up. (Why wear the jacket? Do you love drafts? So many questions.) The "fur" hood is detachable--note not the fur itself, the entire hood. The "fur" is soft and not itchy. The hood is deeeeeep. I love that feature as I have far too often had hoods that only cover the top half of my head. With this hood you can feel like you are wolf in a cave peeking out at the world. Texture is smooth and a beautiful stone grey. Will work over virtually any color pants. SIZING: I'm 5'6", currently 159 lbs evenly distributed. I'm a 38D, 30" ish in the waist and 42" hips. I first got the Large (12-14), and it just felt baggy around my torso. I thought why not try the Medium for shiggles---it fit waaay better. I look like I have a waist with the Medium (10-12), it's more form fitting without being snug, sleeve length is perfect, and I can lift my arms without severe restriction of material tightening across my back. I tried it on wearing a light sweater over a tank top over pixie pants and riding boots (normal work outfit for me). Fit was nice in all areas (especially under arms--not tight) and left room for perhaps one more light layer or a heavy sweater as opposed to a light sweater. The jacket length hits me about mid thigh, which is what I wanted since I wanted my booty covered. Wore it for a 20 minute test walk in Denver on an overcast day, about 45 degrees. Was plenty warm without overheating. Can't wait to try it out on a truly cold day! ... show more

This is the best coat I've ever owned. It is rated for temperatures below zero and it delivers! I wore this in January in Minnesota where the temps ranged from -20 to 0 and it kept me super warm. The double zipper slides smoothly and is really helpful when sitting in the car. The warm fleece around the collar and sleeve openings make it feel cozy. The pockets are a nice size and situated so you can put your hands in them comfortably. Even the hood is super warm. I ended up ditching my hat and just using the hood.     • I ordered the brown animal print in a small. I haven't worn it but once but, so far so good.

I'm realy glad that this comes in the animal print as it probably wouldn't have caught my eye in the solids. I like the hidden pockets and the detachable hood. It was comfortable and true to size. I also bought a small and a med in the solids for my granddaughters and they were also true to size.
