I have been using my Shark Hyperair for over a year and have absolutely loved it since I bought it. But I'm a curly girl and I kept seeing all kinds of curlies recommending the Laifen it so I gave in and bought it when it was on sale. Keep in mind, I ONLY use it (or any hair dryer) with the diffuser attachment so this review is really only for Curly Girls. The pros: It is lightweight, definitely lighter than my Shark. It dries my hair just as quick (I timed both) and the noise level is about the same. Both aren't very noisy at all. It is also smaller in size than the shark. However, I will not be giving up my shark for 1 main reason and one small reason. The diffuser on the shark is light years better than the one on the Laifen. The shark diffuser is, in my humble opinion, the best diffuser I have ever tried (and I have tried A LOT). The fingers are adjustable, the bowl is bigger in both depth and width covering more of my head at once. It's just superior in every way and that is the most important thing to me. The diffuser on the Laifen is pretty basic. Yes it has the fingers but they are just average length and the circumference of the diffuser is also average. It's basic. The second reason I don't like it is much is the cord. It is short and there is this rectangular (power) box near the plug that just bangs against my vanity as I'm drying. Very annoying. So I will be sticking to my shark HOWEVER I have decided not to return the Laifen as it will be good for travel being smaller and lighter and I travel enough that it will be fine for that.

I’m going to be more “harsh” bc brad mondo made me buy this product, and let’s be real a hair dryer this expensive BETTER be good. 1. Does not dry any quicker than my $15 Walmart hair dryer. Still took seemingly forever 2. I still can’t hear my YouTube playing while I dry my hair. There’s not a loud vacuum like sound but it’s still not that quiet. 3. I do think there are less fly away hairs and my hair looks almost like I’ve straightened it so it takes away that step for me. Keep in mind my hair is already straight as a board and the only reason I usually straighten is bc of frizz. Based off this I’d recommend this product 4. Why is is so expensive though. For that price I do expect better bc this is the most expensive hair tool I’ve ever bought. Better last me lifetime Overall I like it and recommend. Plus the magnetic features are nice.

It did a great job drying my hair in record time. I used it with and without the nozzle. With the nozzle, you get better control of where the air goes when styling. Without the nozzle gives a little "wilder" look to the blowout. Setting it to cycle through the 3 temperatures is a great feature of you are worried about heat damage. Again, it dried my hair in record time by not waiting for the dryer to heat up or cool down to a new temp. (The packaging is ridiculous, though. They could probably charge 25-30% less with more realistic packaging. I want a hair dryer, not a lot of very expensive packaging that may not be completely recyclable.)

Update…customer service has responded that they will replace the hairdryer! I am so thrilled because this is a great product. I bought this hairdryer in February 2023 and in October 2023, while using the dryer, sparks came out of it and then it started blowing cold air, only. At this price point, I believe it should last longer. Amazon indicated that I should contact Laifen. I contacted Laifen and they asked for the serial number and Amazon order number. I provided both and was basically told that they can’t find my Amazon order number. So it appears they closed the ticket. I loved this hair dryer but Can’t recommend if a company can’t back up their products.

This diffuser is compact, yet powerful. It dries my thick wavy hair in about 20 minutes. It is lightweight and easy to hold. I didn’t give it 5 stars because it is extremely loud and high pitched on its highest power. I literally put in earplugs when using it. It is also too easy to unintentionally change the temperature.

The dryer works as described. My hair came out great compared to my previous hair dryer. The attachments were perfect to click on even while the dryer is on. Grey attachments while the dryer is pink? Why? It is overall lightweight but not compact for travel, the handle could be a bit shorter. Great buy overall!

I owned the more expensive version of this dryer, y’all know the one. I can say this dryer is better. I have naturally curly 3B curls, and this dryer was just as fast and my curls looked smoother. This dryer was also lighter in weight than the other brand. As long as this one lasts, I would recommend it over the other famous brand.
