I love this dryer. I have a license to buy wholesale appliances but even though they are for professional use, this Laigen hair dryer is powerful, lightweight, and the 3 hair cycle temps are great for my personal use. It is very light weight and small which seems to work very much better when styling my hair. The price point makes this dryer a win win for me. The con is the handle isn't long enough and I often cover the air filter at the bottom which chokes the air to the dryer. I'm thinking about putting a strip of heavy duty tape above the air flow so I know where to place my hand when drying. I would recommend this dryer to anyone wanting a good quality and lightweight hair dryer.

I got introduced to the Laifen brand when I purchased their compact electric shaver P3 Pro, I quickly fell in love with the brand! They're the equivalent of Apple when it comes to build quality, elegance, simplicity and performance. This Laifen hair dryer is no exception, it came in an exquisite packaging, well designed and assembled. If the packaging doesn't give you enough hints of what you're about to experience, wait till you see the device itself! It is well built, compact, elegant and quite powerful for its size. It comes with a single nozzle that snaps in then can be rotated to adjust air flow. The cord is adequately long and is of good quality also has a built-in power surge protector. It was great to see an equally good quality sleeve Included folded on itself, when unfolded it reveals a good sized plush fabric that protects this esthetically nice dryer from scratches and whatnot. Operation wise, this dryer is awesome, it puts out quite a lot of air and heat, it has 2 speed adjustments which I find to be barely different from each other. The heat output adjustment on the other hand is quite good and practical, from non heat, to warm, to really hot. Each mode is represented with a soft colored LED ring that varies from blue, orange to red. There's also a dynamic mode where the dryer automatically cycles between different heat levels which can be very useful. in all this is a great hair dryer, just wished it was also compatible with 220v, it would've made an excellent travel hair dryer.

The Laifen Air comes with a directional nozzle, carrying bag, manual, and quick-start guide, and the first thing that stands out is how light it is. At under 10 ounces, it feels dramatically lighter and more compact than a typical hair dryer, which makes it especially appealing for travel or occasional use. It is also fairly quiet for the amount of airflow it produces. The motor feels strong, the dryer is easy to handle, and the clipped-on nozzle stays in place securely even though it is not magnetic. It was still easy enough to rotate once attached. My only small concern there is that if you dropped it on a hard sink or floor, the nozzle connection looks like the kind of part that could be vulnerable. What makes it more interesting than a basic dryer are the extra modes. In addition to the normal temperature settings, it has a cycling mode that gradually moves through the heat range instead of holding one constant temperature. My wife has thick, coarse hair, and this worked especially well for drying excess water before styling. It made the process feel less harsh than blasting high heat the entire time, which is probably better for her hair and also nicer in our very small bathroom, where a hot dryer can make the room feel miserable pretty quickly. The Child Mode is also a smart addition. It keeps the temperature in a lower range, around 100 to 118 degrees, which makes it feel safer and more approachable for gentler use. That actually made me think this would be a good gift option for younger family members. The tradeoff is raw drying power. It works well, but on my wife’s hair it still took about 10 to 15 minutes longer than her higher-end dryer. So while it feels like a nice step above a budget model, I would not put it in the same class as a true premium salon-style dryer for speed. Overall, I think this is a good option if you value low weight, compact size, and a more pleasant drying experience more than absolute drying speed. For travel and occasional use, it makes a lot of sense.

Laifen "Air" Hair Dryer with smooth nozzle. (Purple) This is a premium quality hair dryer, it looks high-tec, and functions well. It comes with a "smoothing" nozzle that snaps on easily and securely, rotates smoothly, and helps direct the airflow. There is a filter screen at the base of the handle, where the air enters to hair dryer, that has a magnetically attached cover for easy access to clean it (see pic). Settings are simple, with a physical switch for the two speeds. Then there is a multipurpose button, where single press adjusts the temperature in three steps: cool, warm, and hot. The color led changes respectively, blue, orange, and red. A long-press puts you in the cycle mode, that cycles between cool to hot to cool over about 5 second intervals(led cycles between red and blue). A quick double-press of the button turns on "child mode", operating at a lower temperature(led slowly goes on and off in orange). As for this being compact, it is fairly lightweight and small compared to full size hair dryers, but larger than a travel hair dryer. I have a travel hair dryer that I have used for a log time, it folds up and only weighs 12.5 oz. The, by contrast, Leifen weighs 17.5oz. (See pic for size comparison) All in all, this hairdryer has some nice features, a strong airflow, and drys hair very well. I like it, but just not for travel.
