  • Extreme value for your buck.
Size: ATX Style: MPG B650 EDGE WIFI
As someone who jumped back into PC building with a focus on heavy RGB and high-performance components, the MSI MPG B650 Edge WiFi Gaming Motherboard has been working strong. From the start, this motherboard has handled my extensive setup with ease, including over 10 RGB fans, internal screens, and other peripherals that demand a ton of power and ports. The port options on this board are outstanding. It has everything you could need plenty of USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, M.2 slots, and SATA 6Gb/s connections. These options made my build a breeze, and I had more than enough room for all my components, from SSDs to RGB headers. The PCIe 4.0 slot is great for future-proofing and ensures that I'm getting the best performance from my GPU. One of the best features has to be its ability to handle heavy loads of RGB. With so many fans and RGB elements in my build, I was worried about managing it all. Especially when it came to the board staying cool. The MSI MPG B650 didn’t even blink! The onboard RGB headers and software make customization a breeze, allowing me to sync everything seamlessly. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are the cherries on top, giving me ultra-fast wireless connectivity without a hitch. The DDR5 support means my system runs buttery smooth, and the AM5 socket has me set up perfectly for my AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processor. If you're into RGB-heavy builds and need a board that can keep up with high-performance setups, this motherboard delivers in every way. Highly recommend for builders who want serious performance without sacrificing aesthetics. No better value for your buck. ... show more

  • quality MoBo
Size: ATX Style: MPG B650 EDGE WIFI
For back ground, my son wanted to build a 'cool' computer for his Christmas present. We started looking and buying parts in October '23. Everything arrived on time except the other motherboard that he originally wanted. I haven't built a PC in 15 years so I was a little skeptical when that mobo took months to arrive and didn't arrive until after Jan 1, '24. when we got it, it didn't post and had only one channel of RAM that worked. I opted to do some research separate from what he thought he wanted. I opted to 'recommend' he get this MSI 650 edge. He agreed and I ordered it. It arrived on time and we put everything together. what do you know, it not only worked, but is well built and appears to be running beautifully. Updated the bios immediately upon start up and had no issues. the MSI bios interface was easy to navigate, the only hitch we had was the need to use a thumb drive to pull the wifi drivers down from the web site, not a huge deal, just took a minute to do. Once it was on the network, the windows install was a breeze. overall very positive experience with the seller and the product. will see how it holds up over time. ... show more

  • Affordable price compared to high-end motherboards
Size: ATX Style: MPG B650 EDGE WIFI
My three cents: The MSI MPG B650 edge WiFi Gaming Motherboard is an affordable, mid-range board aimed at gamers and enthusiasts. Despite its lower price point, it still offers advanced Wi-Fi 6e support and fast NVMe storage options. The motherboard's build quality and components are good, and it supports the latest AMD Ryzen processors. However, its overclocking potential is limited, and there are fewer USB ports compared to some competitors. Additionally, the board does not support Thunderbolt connectivity. Despite these limitations, the MSI MPG B650 Edge WiFi is an excellent choice for budget-conscious gamers who want a reliable, high-performance motherboard. Overall I would recommend this board if you're not looking to do any OC. Pros: - Advanced Wi-Fi 6e support with dual-band 802.11ax - Multiple M.2 slots for fast NVMe storage - Good build quality and components -Support for the latest processors, including AMD Ryzen processors Cons: -Limited overclocking potential -Fewer USB ports compared to some competitors -Lacks support for Thunderbolt connectivity Update 2/12/2023: Everything is working great and stable. ... show more

  • BEWARE: Manufacture defect has ruined this experience for me
Size: ATX Style: MPG B650 EDGE WIFI
I have had two of these same motherboards and they both had the same issue. I thought the first one was just a random defect but when it was replaced and had the same issue, I did some research and came to find out that thousands of these boards all have the same defect. Long story short, the box that this board is stored/shipped in is too tight and presses down the BIOS flash button on the IO so that it drains the CMOS battery completely by the time you get it. This is obviously a known issue but they have done nothing to correct this issue with the packaging. I could not put it to sleep as it did not have a way of saving my BIOS setting and coming back up. The PC constantly had to be manually shut down and rebooted every single use which reset all BIOS settings back to default every reboot. I would stay away from this board until there has been some sort of announcement that this issue has been resolved. ... show more

  • Buyer beware: capricious compatibility with certain NVMe M.2 drives
Size: ATX Style: MPG B650 EDGE WIFI
Overall good board that includes a serviceable suite in the way of MSI center, which handles install of utility drivers and rgb settings. Arrived with pre-installed AM5 backplate and implements a straightforward BIOS flash procedure, resulting in a quick and easy install. However, as the headline for this review outlined, be aware that these boards have a history of NOT playing well with Western Digital NVMe M.2 drives, which in this specific case, was the SN850X 1TB and 2TB models. Both SSDs were unable to be recognized in the M.2_1 slot, however, were recognized interchangeably in the M.2_2 and M.2_3 slots. For other builders, the M.2_2 slot also refused to recognize such WD SSDs, even after prolonged troubleshooting. With that said, if you plan on picking up this board, we'd advise staying clear of such WD SSDs, otherwise you're risking not being able to take advantage of the M.2_1 slot. Note that in our case, a Samsung 980 PRO M.2 1TB solved the issue, and was immediately recognized in the 'faulty' M.2_1 slot. ... show more
