The super sturdy Ladder-Max is professional grade AND homeowner friendly. It provides 19" of standoff from gutters, roofing and walls while stabilizing your ladder with arms that reach 36" from tip to tip. Our signature orange tips are made in the USA from non-marring heavy-duty plastic and provide four points of stable contact to protect you from sideslip and to protect the surface on which your Ladder-Max standoff rests. The standoff distance also allows you to work in a natural, unstrained position. You're able to reach farther more safely. The Ladder-Max standoff is constructed in the USA of rugged, durable, rust-resistant steel and is built to last. It has the highest duty rating for type 1AA ladders with a special duty rating of 375.

Finally got around to putting this together so I could install aluminum leaf guards on my gutter. Instructions aren't quite as detailed as they could be, but I was able to figure out the steps regardless. Goes on and off easily and I like the fact two pins hold it in place so it will come off quickly if you need to remove it. Seems very sturdy, not cheap or flimsy.     • Save your gutters
We installed LeafGuard gutters a few years ago. They work very well, however, we were warned about propping ladders against the gutters and denting them. I've had a couple of people who have blown leaves off my roof and no one has a stand-off like this. The ones who had anything the arms were short and had to be placed against the side of the house making the move from the ladder to the roof very treacherous. I purchased this product a couple of months ago in preparation for some small repair work to our roof. This past week I finally took the parts out of the box to put it together so that it would be ready for the repairman. Putting the product together: The instructions are clear and concise. The bolts included are extremely well machined and fit perfectly. Follow the instructions and you won't have any problems. Took about 20 minutes to complete simply because I'm not as fast as I used to be! It does help to have two people since one person can hold parts while the other puts the bolts through the proper holes. Build Quality: This is one well made product. The steel tubing is thick and heavy. The rubber tips at the end give the impression that they will last as long as necessary. Actual Use: There are two foot plates that fit right on the ladder and two pins that hold the stand-off to the ladder steps. The pins have an easy to remove safety wire that will assure you that the stand-off won't fall off. This allowed the roofer to easily get from the ladder to the roof and gave us the confidence that not only would he be safe but so would our gutters. I can recommend this product without restrictions. My roofer was so impressed with the quality and fit/finish that he was sure we had rented it and was surprised that we had been able to buy it from Amazon.     • Very handy, but not without a few issues
My Ladder-Max arrived quickly and was undamaged in shipping. Assembly was easy, except that one carriage bolt was missing. I substituted a similar bolt from my collection and all was well. The unit by itself is not particularly heavy and attached to my extension ladder with ease. Now it came time to use it! First real problem is that with the ladder extended slightly to expose the top three rungs as per directions and the Ladder-Max in place, a ladder that is normally not bad for one person to handle became a terrible pain to get in position. It makes the ladder very top heavy and hard to handle. Once in place, the stabilizer performed perfectly. There was simply no other way I could work on re-sloping my gutters on a roof section with an overhang. The ladder felt very solid and stable. The need to extend the ladder slightly to mount the Ladder-Max and position it so the ladder didn't touch the gutter put the ladder at more of an incline than I would like; it was like climbing a slope rather than the more straight up ladder. This was not a big deal - just felt a bit odd. Pros Does the job for roof overhangs Makes the ladder feel very stable Ladder does not touch the gutter Cons Missing bolt Makes the ladder top heavy and hard to handle Forced me to position the ladder at a strange slope (this depends upon your roof and ladder, of course) Overall, I could not have done the job without the Ladder-Max. Should have had one decades ago. Really stabilizes the ladder and saves dinging up the gutters. Safer way to climb to the roof by far.
