  • Flat wound bass strings rule, for comfort, no finger noise, and great tone.
Color: Original Version
I use these on my fender p-bass. I've also used D'addario Chromes. I like these a little better. It's a typical p-bass, only one passive single coil pickup, simple volume and treble-cut tone, so not a lot of tone shaping right on the guitar. Therefore the strings are maybe more critical than on a bass with active EQ for example. Note that these are same gauge as standard p-bass strings, so they will have a little more tension, so you might need or want to adjust the setup on the bass. Not absolutely necessary, and not a big deal. I like the tighter feel, more sustain, and deeper tone. And like all flats, no finger noise, and very smooth and comfortable playing. ... show more

  • Defective Strings
Color: Original Version
I just purchased a set of La Bella 760FS Stainless Steel Bass Guitar Strings. When I started to install them on my bass, the low E string wrap separated from the core while I was tuning it making it unusable. It wasn't even close to proper pitch when this happened. The string didn't actually break, just separated. I've been playing bass for over 40 years and have never had this happen before. I have heard good things about this brand of strings and this was my first time buying them. Needless to say, I won't be buying them again! ... show more
