  • Best Strings I’ve Ever Used
I put these on a shortscale Fender P Bass and they sound amazing! It’s exactly the tone I’d been missing all these years. Great low end and thump. They feel awesome too. Been playing lots of Motown covers lately and these are perfect for the job. In fact, after having them for a while, I read online that these are what James Jamerson used. I’ve been playing bass for a couple decades and my only regret is that I didn’t start using these strings sooner. Get these, you won’t regret it. I’ve even given sets to friends as gifts and they love them too. ... show more

  • Best short scale, flat wound bass strings available
If you've "discovered" the world of short scale basses, perhaps promped, in part, by arthritis, then you're of an age to remember the Beatles and Motown. If you want to play along with those songs, that are the soundtrack to your life, these are the strings that will give you that rich low end that cut through the static of a far off AM radio station late at night. ... show more

  • Deep bassy sound
These are my favorite flatwound bass guitar strings for playing old-style music (from Motown, back through rockabilly, standards, etc.). Very deep bassy sound, comfortable under the fingers, and they last a long time.

  • Don't cheap out on flatwounds
After buying a Fender Mustang bass I needed to find flatwound strings for it. The only strings compatible were the ones LaBella makes specifically for Mustangs with string-through bodies. I had previously thought all flatwound strings were the same; I couldn't have been more wrong. It's obvious the second you open the pack of strings; they're far more polished and smooth that the other brands I've used (Diaddario and Fender), but that's not where the differences end. The smoothness of the strings, besides being easier on the fretting fingers for sliding, create a MUCH darker tone out of the box. One of my gripes with new bass strings is that they're usually way too bright and punchy, but these strings sound like BASS strings from the moment you first tune up. I just switched the strings on my travel bass - a mini Squier P-Bass - and they sound so much better than the flatwound Fender strings I previously had on it. I don't usually write reviews for anything, but I've never been so blown away by the quality of a product compared to the competition. ... show more

  • Ibanez Mikro
I was looking for Flat Wound strings for my Ibanez Mikro Bass. Purchased these strings and they just fit, the nylon on the G string is just shy of the post. I love the sound of these strings compared to Round Wound.

  • The best Flats I've ever had
I've used these flatwound strings for many years, and I love the tone. I had to get a set for my new shortscale Nordstrand Acinonyx bass. They fit , and sound perfect

  • Great flat wounds
My first set of flat wounds. They sound and feel great. The short scale fits my Squier Jaguar perfectly. And made in USA is a nice bonus.
