Description

The Kwanzan cherry tree is one of the showiest of all Japanese trees. The blooms of Kwanzan cherry trees are large pink doubles. The blooming period of this wonderful tree is longer than that of most other flowering cherry trees. This tree has unusual flowers due to their large size in comparison to other flowering cherry trees. Kwanzan cherry trees will begin to grow leaves while the flowers are still in bloom, which is unlike all other flowering cherry trees. The blooms of the Kwanzan cherry tree will begin to fade and close up, leaving the green foliage and glossy bark. Primarily found in Japan, the Kwanzan cherry tree will also grow in the United States and is hardy to zones five through eight. Like all other flowering cherry trees, the Kwanzan cherry tree prefers soil that is well-drained and full sun exposure in order to flower best. This deciduous tree will grow to a height of thirty to fifty feet, with a mature spread of fifteen to twenty feet. The Kwanzan cherry tree is a fast growing variety. The Kwanzan cherry tree is also known as the Japanese flowering cherry tree. Also called Sakura tree in Japan The leaves are green with a hint of red. In the autumn, the leaves of Kwanzan cherry trees will turn a reddish copper color. The beautiful ornamental tree will give years of beautiful blooms and fragrances.

1 ordered 2 by accident, after reading reviews, I thought about not ordering, but thought I would give it a try anyways because the pics of the flower is so beautiful and cute. What i got was 2 sticks, 1 about 10" and the other 12" that if you measure the little black plastic pot container from the bottom to the top of the sticks. They weren't packed every well in a priority box, no extra care info in or on the outside of the box, so the mailman literally just tossed the box on the porch. I opened the box not knowing what the heck it was, and good thing I did other wise the plants in the box will be sitting on the porch all say. There was no car instructions or anything at all and the soil it came in was very dry. I will update this info if the plants do anything, but the sticks literally look bare and they just cut off the branch, pretty pitiful looking for plant for the $80 I spent! I could have gotten a better healthier 3' tree at Lowes. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! ... show more

Decent sized starter tree. Arrived well packaged and had healthy looking green leaves already in bloom on it. A little bit bigger than 13” upon arrival.     • Not a cherry blossom tree
The media could not be loaded. Got this tree two years ago. Planted in my front yard and there have been no blossoms since planted. Not sure what kind of tree it is but I’m sure it’s not a cherry blossom tree because they bloom young. Very sad it didn’t turn out what I thought I ordered.

Came as a live plant :) Planted it in a pot about a week after I received it. The leaves it had when it arrived wilted and dried up (I believe it's due to brutal sun we've had this summer) Plant seems to have acclimated to our heat here and fresh leaves have grown! When I received it in a business envelope,I was very disappointed.I was expecting at lest 3ft tall tree in a container bec it says it is a 3 year old tree and plus with the amount I paid I was expecting more.It came almost lifeless but I gave it a chance to give me signs of life,it took 2-3 months to demonstrate life!     • I am very happy with my tree
the tree arrived and was the leaves were a little pale due to no sunlight. This is to be expected. I transfer the tree into a larger pot and the next day it was greener and appeared healthy. I notice growth after a few days the buds are growing. I do not expect blossoms for a year or two. As the tree must mature. I am interested in the various japanese maples and will order some too ... show more
