This black ceiling light is perfectly good for a non-prominent hallway, home office, basement room, or, in our case, a closet. I would not recommend it for a prominent place in your home (entranceway, living room, kitchen, master bedroom) as it reads a bit low-end. The thin metal and plastic shade look fine from a distance, but give themselves away as you walk closer. It definitely beats the basic, dated, light we had in our closet. I wouldn't say that it's a great value, but it is priced reasonably. The Good Stuff: -It comes with all of the wires and hardware needed to install (if you are replacing an existing light). It is a easy and basic installation, just like any light. -One really great feature is the ability to switch between 3 different color temperatures (3000K/4000K/6000K). A well known radio home improve expert said that 3000k is best for closets, because it will help make your clothes look similar to how they would in natural light. I set our light to 3000, since we are using it in our closet. -According to the seller (Kudos) description, this light has a CRI of 90+. CRI is the color rendering index, which indicates how closely the color of objects will look to their color in natural light. Anything above 90 is supposed to be sufficient.     • Exactly what our hallway needed
Ordered this to replace a terrible dim old light fixture in a long hallway. This fixture was SO easy to install but you definitely need to be gentle with it. Feels VERY flimsy/cheap. Much brighter than expected.

This is a nice looking light fixture, but the construction and materials could be better. When I installed mine and twisted on the bottom part on the dark frame twisted out of place. I was able to line everything back up and it looked fine. So I would say this is not made from the best material, but it's still a good looking fixture ... show more

Installation was straightforward. Remove old fixture, unwire three wires, install installation bracket, reconnect three wires with wire nuts, test. It took me about 10 minutes from start to finish to install this. The most difficult part was actually installing the bottom bracket, containing the shade, onto the part that attaches to the ceiling. There are three prongs and the alignment was a little tricky but I did eventually get it. One prong was slightly bent and required flexing it slightly to get it to rotate into place. For a handyman home install, it doesn't really get much easier. The lighting temperature to select is either Cool White (CW), Natural White (NW), or Warm White (WW). Warm white is closest to incandescent but still a little on the white side, as opposed to yellow. Cool White is a little too intense for the home, in my opinion, and more suited to office-type lighting. The fixture itself is a little lightweight but you would never know looking from the floor. Unless your guests are removing and inspecting your fixtures, this would pass the '6 foot test' and looks like a more expensive fixture. The rustic (maybe farmhouse?) look fits very well with my home. Overall I am very pleased. ... show more

This light is very lightweight so it is easy to install. It is solid in the connections and the led lights themselves. The light is consistent around the area unlike the bulb light we had in the past. Great looking light that many guests have commented about. Perfect for hallways.

Installed easily and looks good. The frosted glass makes it a touch dimmer than my old light fixture, so someone who wants things super bright would probably need to get a higher wattage bulb, but for me this is perfect!
