  • Easy to use regulates well, buy a different door gasket.
Works amazing. The gasket that comes for the door is junk. Go ahead and buy a better one but other than that it's a really good buy.

  • Paint burned off on the outside smoked out.
Horrible little stove. Extremely dangerous. I can't believe someone would put this in their tent. I started very a small fire that turned into a bed of coals. I closed the damper a little bit and one of the air flows so it could heat up. I woke up gagging and choking on smoke. The paint had burned off. Demanding a refund. Horrible product. • Great for the money
This stove is a great value for the money extremely heavy-duty and built to handle serious heat. It’s compact but solid, and the 3.5-inch flue sets it apart from other small stoves in its class. It draws perfectly and can take a very hot fire without any issues once set up right. One big downside: the factory paint just can’t handle real heat. No matter how carefully you cure it, it’ll burn off once you really get the stove going especially on the body and first two sections of pipe. I ended up sanding everything down to bare metal, then applied a light coat of synthetic motor oil and burned it off several times. That process gave it a tough, seasoned cast-iron look that not only holds up but looks better than new. Overall, it’s a tough, efficient stove and absolutely worth the money if you’re willing to put in a little extra work on the finish. Once you do, it’s easily the best small stove in its price range. The pipes also as others have mentioned need to be sealed or inverted. Or you can buy a 3.5 inch exhaust pipe from the auto parts store and have 1 solid piece. ... show more

  • Good stove if you modify it
Decent stove with some caveats. Seems to be a very close copy of the Guide Gear wood stove, so all of the same problems and modifications apply. Expect to need to do some work to this before it works well, but with some adjustments its a pretty good little stove. All of the chimney and leg parts fit inside the stove, though it is fairly heavy so you're probably not going to want to move very far. I think it's around 50 pounds. The good: It fits fairly large chunks of wood, normal size firewood logs will fit inside. You can definitely fit enough wood to have a few hours of heat. The construction is good, decent welds, thick steel door that doesn't warp. I expect this to last a long time. The bad: The chimney pieces flanges stack so that creosote will drip out of the chimney. This can be addressed by turning the chimney upside down and figuring out a different way to attach it to the stove. I used a piece of sheet metal and some hose clamps. The other major problem is the paint it's coated with. You are supposed to burn it slowly to cure the paint for the first couple of hours of use. I wasn't able to successfully do this - with normal use parts of the stove get too hot and the paint burns off, which emits toxic fumes. My solution was to just set the stove up outside and run it hot to burn off all of the paint, and then coat it with traditional stove blackening. You could probably instead use high heat spray paint, or just live with some rust. Modifications: I added a grate to the bottom of the stove using an old bbq grate for better airflow. Not strictly necessary, but does help it burn longer. The stove comes a with door gasket that immediately falls off. I tried gluing on a rope stove gasket and this actually made the stove work worse - this stove likes a lot of airflow, when the door is well sealed it sputters and shoots smoke out of the air intake holes, especially immediately after adding wood. So probably better to just not have a gasket. The bottom air intake had 3 holes. I drilled a 4th to match the top for more airflow. The chimney is 3.5 inch pipe, a different size from from what most tent stoves use. You can find automotive exhaust pipe in that size if you need more length or elbows. I added a baffle at the top to the stove opening to keep the fire in the box when opening the door. Just a piece of sheet metal wedged in there does the trick to keep the smoke from coming out. I hope the manufacture reads these and makes adjustments to the manufacturing. This thing could be really good out of the box if they turned the chimney upside down, changed the paint and improved the airflow design slightly... ... show more

  • Not great
We can definitely tell that whoever welded the hinges does not take pride in their work, I get that it's $100 wood stove and it does work besides the seals falling off of The doors and this terrible coating that they decide to put on these things I burnt it all night last night and it's all bubbled and it looks like crap, you have to burn off all of this terrible coating that smell like burnt tires, I'd rather receive a bear metal Rusty one then have to get this thing to 400° and burn all of it off, not 100% satisfied but it does work ... show more

  • Burn off the paint
I put this in my camper. The price was good, and it works ok in my application. The cons. Take the paint off, at least top sides and first piece of exhaust pipe. I did try burning it outside first, but it was cooler that day and I didnt have great wood so it didnt get super hot when I brought it in, it started burning off the paint. The exhaust is 3.5 inch, hard to find elbows for it. Which maybe why it doesnt draft good for me, instead of going straight up I put it out a window to not have to put a hole in my camper. The seals for the door fell off pretty quick but mostly dont seem to be a problem. I can only get it to last maybe 6hrs. Definitely won't last a full night. My wood is pretty wet, might work better with drier wood ... show more

  • Great stove after it’s cured
Had a fire going in it all day before I put it in our camper. It had a hard time drafting. Upgraded to 4 inch chimney fixed the drafting issue. This little stove put out the heat. I also put fire bricks on the bottom and sides.
