We rent this house and we were living with THE most hideous three decades into last century chandelier over our dining table. I even noticed it on the episode of Parks and Recreation in April and Andy's house when they married, which you would think would make it more charming but no. It's just hideous, not charming at all. I knew that if we were going to keep living in this house, that "thing" had to go. I searched for a couple of months for a modern hanging chandelier that wouldn't break the bank because we are renting here and may never have use for this fixture again (I carefully packed away the hideous one in case they want that put back up when we move someday). I can spend $150 on dinner for myself in a nice restaurant (I like wine with dinner and Bourbon with dessert), so there was no reason to think twice about a purchase that would make just walking into my dining room less painful every time. I am so pleased with this light fixture. We have been fixing up our entryway. We got a new runner, since our baby has started crawling, we got a bench, and a new wreath from Amazon. Then we realized, our old light fixture was not cutting it. I have been scouring the internet and big box stores for the perfect light that would make the right statement as people entered our home. I wanted something that made an impact, was elegant but modern, and something that filled the space, but wasn't too big, since I really only had about 26 inches from the top of our ceiling to our door frames. This has exceeded my expectations. It was a quick install. It was packaged well. And aside from us getting tons of compliments on it and it looking more expensive than what it was, both me and my husband love it! I catch him admiring it and turning the light on randomly, just to appreciate it! When deciding on a light fixture i got a little overwhelmed and overthought it. The lamp needs to be assembled , which is fine for us as my husband is very handy , however a piece was broken . We did not want to waste any more time with getting the light up so we fixed it ourselves and thankfully our cabinets came with a magic crayon to hide dings . So we hid the repair with that .
