It's going to make your hair look like you just had a blow out its not meant to be super curly or hold a extreme curl it loosens and looks like your hair as blown out and it's absolutely amazing. It looks pretty, that’s the one positive. It’s very heavy and difficult to maneuver through your hair. It is a large barrel so it only completes one or maybe two rotations through average length hair, and when it gives absolutely zero curl, the wand is pointless. I tried keeping it on my hair longer hoping that would do something—nothing. I kept trying, thinking it must do something to the hair, I kept it on longer than necessary and probably is even good for your hair, the heat was high, still it did nothing to my hair. It’s called a ‘soft bend’ I realize but it doesn’t even give that. Also, it made my hair stink like burned hair or something that lasted days. So it probably damages hair. Ultimately this is the worst curling wand I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a ton. So this went back. The spray texturizer from Kristen Ess is nice though, even if this curling wand is terrible. ... show more

I wanted to love this item but honestly, it's just too big, heavy and hard to utilize. I don't have small hands and it was tough for me to manage. I could not find a decent 2" barrel with the built in stand, rather than that metal wire kind you have to manually push down every time you need to set it on the counter, so this looked like the perfect option. It is really nice and feels solidly made but I think I'll have to stick with my smaller curling iron since my hand and arm were exhausted after just a few 'curls'. I am still perplexed at why this curler didn't work for me. To be fair it gets hot so I can't really knock the functionality but my hair never curled and I tried very hard to make it happen. (I really wanted that blowout look) I think it could be because the barrel is too large at 2 inches. I had the ends of my hair turn up a bit but the entire strand of hair was straight above it. I have to say that the packaging and item itself were beautiful though. I was sad to return it. ... show more
