We finally got a chance to put the pergola together and secure it to our front porch deck. Instructions . .. The instructions weren't difficult for my husband to decipher but he also has years of construction and blue prints background. For me it would have been more difficult. There are more pictures then actual written instructions. Materials...our pieces look to be well made . We only had one of the larger pieces that had 2 slight bends in the metal. We feel it was where the package was banded with straps. Assembly pieces. There were plenty of bolts for the project and we liked how each separate bag was marked so you could identify them. Longevity.. I can't say how well it will hold up as we only built it yesterday but the materials seem to be more durable than others we have seen in stores. It is a beautiful addition to our new home and porch deck.

Ok here is everything u need to know. It looks exactly like the pic very nice however it is not black. More like slate grey still looks good but I was a bit surprised bu the color. The canopy on top is ver nice very thick. This pergula is alot of work to put together you cannot do this by yourself you will need 3...or more people to help with this all 5 of my family helped to put this together. It took like 3 hours. You will need to secure it mines is up now and is wobbly we are looking into either bolting down or filling post with sand. The post are hollow. This pergula is very nice we love it. Hope this helps if you are wondering if this is for You. Great deal.

Finished installing took about four hours two people sometimes three people to help. No missing parts. Couple of damage parts as seen in the photos. Canopy can probably use some drainage holes for rain. The overall unit is Not very sturdy, but I did use anchor bolts at the bottom. The company recommended 3/8 3 inch anchor bolts for the cement. It does come with anchor bolts, but they didn’t look very sturdy. Not gonna worry too much about the damage parts cause I don’t think I’m gonna take it apart. One A-frame was damaged and a B1 was damaged. Not too noticeable so I’m gonna leave it as is. I will see how it holds up to Florida weather. One more thing, the strap that attaches to the canopy to be able to string, it out should be slightly longer or better design, so that short of people can reach it and tighten it without using a ladder.

Let me start by saying that if the return period hadn’t passed (waiting for a weekend without rain to install), we would definitely have returned this! The first picture shows one of the seams already coming apart after only being up for a few days. The next picture is the clips that the top is supposed to lock into when closed. They never line up, no matter what I do. When I open them up slightly to where the front rail slides in, they are too loose to hold the top. The only way to make it work is to get a step ladder to reach the clips and force the front rail into them. The third picture is the droop in the top when closed. The top is so long that it holds gallons of water when it rains! Then, it makes a mess all over our deck—and new furniture— when you try to drain it! If the top was shorter, where it was taut when closed, and the front was a little higher that the back, it would allow water to drain. Overall, bad design and cheap materials make this a terrible product! I wish I had just built a wooden pergola like I had initially planned.

This is our 3rd summer with this pergola and it has worked great for my needs. It was easy enough to put together and the awning is tall enough so you don’t feel crammed and we’ve kept the structure outdoors through the CO winters and so far there’s no rust issues. The retractable awning is great, we pull it back when it’s supposed to storm and take it down in the winter. So far, the awning has held up well. As you can see in the images, I modified it by adding some simple curtain rods with some blackout outdoor curtains to keep people in the shade as the sun moves. I’d recommend doing that for maximum shade throughout the day. The pergola sits close to our house so I’m not sure how it would hold up in the wind. Given I wasn’t looking for a permanent structure this product has met all my needs and for the price is has held up great for 2+ yrs.

I must say, we are very please with this pergola for our application. Very well made, pretty light weight and easy to assemble. Just take your time and use a drill on low torque as there are a lot of fasteners. Lots of extra hardware included. fit and finish very nice when assembled. We have a upper deck on the back of our house with southern exposure. We mounted this pergola on the 2nd level deck primarily for sun protection and shade. We screwed the foot plate to the joists and it sturdy for all kinds of weather. We leave the sun shade retracted unless we are using it. The sun shade material quality is good, but we imagine it will need replaced every few years. The fabric shade rolling mechanism is basically small wheels in a grove which should hold up well unless abused. Neighbors have seen it up and complemented us on how nice this product looks. Great value for money!
