  • A great tuner and a great buy!
Style: Pitchblack Pedal Tuner
This tuner works great. I put in a 9 volt battery a couple of months ago and it still is going strong. It will take a 9 volt output from my power supply and I can then piggyback to another pedal, which is great. It is very, very accurate and does not get confused under normal conditions. You do need to hit only one string at a time, however. Size is perfect for a pedalboard small but still quite readable. Price is very good. I had a Boss in the past but took it back because it just seemed so overpriced and too complicated. ... show more

  • The Korg Pitchblack Chromatic Tuner is THE BEST TUNER on the market! Buy it now!
Style: Pitchblack Pedal Tuner
What can I say?! I had a Korg Pitchblack tuner before, and it worked flawlessly. Now, this is my second one, and of course it works flawlessly also. Why did I buy this tuner again? Because this is the best tuner on the market. Bar none. The letters are clearly lit as well as the bright LED meters. This tuner works on a 9V battery or a power adapter. It also has a 9 VDC output jack for "cascading power supply to other pedals." The tuner is also TRUE BYPASS! There are 4 types of display mode: Full Strobe, Half Strobe, Meter & Mirror. This tuner pedal looks amazing. It is sleek, modern, and has a tough aluminum die cast body. Buy this Korg Pitchblack Chromatic Tuner now! You won't regret it. ... show more

  • Hey am I in tune?
Style: Pitchblack Pedal Tuner
Awesome tuner, really fast and responsive. Best of all it is accurate, enough so that using this for setups has resulted in a much quicker easier process than I had anticipated. Nice and bright so I can clearly see it on stage in the dark. Occasionally I get a small pop when I engage it but not that frequently. This pedal feels good and sturdy too, I really cannot see anyone breaking it unless you feel the need to leap from the monitors on to the switch. Price is easy enough that if anything should happen to it, I would not think twice about picking another one up. ... show more

  • does the job quickly, and easy to see
Style: Pitchblack Pedal Tuner
this was recommended to me by a guitar shop owner. read many reviews and did much research comparing various other tuners. this looks good (non-obtrusive), seems very sturdy, the switch is very well built and very easy to trigger (very important to me.) have not had any noise problem switching it on and off so far. and, best of all, the tuner is very easy to see, and works very quickly, and thus far, with a battery, has been quite accurate. only 4 stars because it is the only pedal tuner i have owned. maybe there are better ones, but this one is pretty darn good! ... show more

  • engaging the pedal sends a shock thru the PA *** UPDATE: SOLUTION FOUND
Style: Pitchblack Pedal Tuner
I'm surprised no one else had this problem: The tuner sends a loud noise through the PA system whenever the pedal is pressed. The pedal was between a Baggs DI box and a guitar, so phantom power wasn't at issue. I've had this issue with the Snark pedal (SN-10S) as well; seems like the only tuning pedals that don't send a shock through the PA system are the Boss TU-2 & TU-3 pedals... which is a shame, because their jacks short out after a couple years' regular use. ***UPDATE*** 06 Sept. 2016: As it turns out, the reason this tuner (which is known as a "true bypass" pedal) pops when used with a piezo pickup (such as my K&K Twin) is as follows: the input on the tuners mentioned is AC coupled, and the output of the pickup is also AC coupled. This allows the DC level of the signal to float. When the tuner is engaged, its output is connected to ground. This can cause a pop if there was a DC offset on the signal. The same thing happens when the tuner is switched off. The output that was grounded is suddenly connected to the output of the instrument that may have a slight DC offset, again causing a loud pop. The solution is to place a 1 MegOhm resistor across the output of the pickup. This can be added to your guitar cable. A 1/8 Watt resistor is small enough to fit inside the screw on metal housing of the plug. You could also solder this inside the tuner, but the tuner would no longer be true-bypass. Yet another option is to solder the resistor inside the jack of the pickup. ... show more

  • I thought the unit had failed, but I was using a stereo cord instead of a mono cord. Works fiine!
Style: Pitchblack Pedal Tuner
Update: I initially reported that the unit had failed. I was wrong. I must have switched cords and put a stereo cord on. The unit won't work with a stereo plug. I thought Korg was sending me failed units. The units were fine, and sturdy, and it was my not realizing I swapped out cords and was now playing with a stereo cord attached to my guitar. Korg customer service and product support was great. They answered all my complaints about the unit, provided me with new units to try, even tested my units that I returned eventually. When they told me they all worked I knew there was an issue on my end but i could not figure it out. A friend is an electrical engineer and he noticed that my cord was a stereo cord and that I should try a mono cord. That did it. Works great just like before. Thanks Korg. ... show more
