Got this for my 10 year old son that has mild CP. He likes water, but struggles with swimming. This gives him freedom in the water. I like that it’s adjustable as you can remove the foam (A to D) and the bottom strap is removable as well. He’s around 53 inches tall and 60 lbs. I removed the foam from A and he is able to be comfortable and swim in the deep end of the pool.

I purchased these for my grandson who has multiple disabilities. He is a large boy and these worked perfectly. The wide strap at the bottom keeps the vest from riding up and does not give wedgies like some swim vests we have tried. I like that the floats can be removed in a gradual manner so we just keep as many as necessary.

It is so hard to find a youth life jacket for older kids. My daughter is a skinny, tall 7 year old - weighs about 65 pounds - and this jacket was great this summer. She is learning to swim but still needs a little help. A lot of the jackets out there for bigger kids are life vests so when they get in the water, no matter how much you tighten the chest straps, the whole thing pushes up into their arm pits and ears and they don't have the crotch strap. It's not a design flaw, they just aren't meant to wear in the water long term. So when I found this one I was super excited to try it. I know it's a little pricy, but I am telling you its worth it. There are foam bricks in the inside that you can remove as your child gains confidence and the strap between the legs holds it in place. It doesn't float up. My daughter loves it and says it is very comfy and did not get a rub rash on her face or arm pits after wearing it for 6 hours. If you're on the fence, don't waste anymore time deciding. Get this one.

As my 5 yo granddaughter grew out of arm and chest floats, I found it difficult to find a float that did not end up pushing up into her chin when she’s in the water. I tried a few and returned them because of the uncomfortable design. Finally, I tried this one, fingers crossed it would fit her the way the picture appeared. Happy to say that this design does stay away from her neck and chin and the crotch strap is super comfortable with no issues. It even has adjustable float blocks that can be removed if needed as they grow. I purchased one size larger then her age, she is tall and thin. This will definitely still fit her next year and possibly longer assuming it will hold up to the challenge. Highly recommended
