My Badboy zt elite had a kt-745 kohler only it had the more flatter filter not the more commercial type like this engine. Also, original motor also had manual choke. This engine is auto choke. I just removed the choke cable completely from mower. Had to swap over muffler from old engine. Remember to buy muffler gaskets they are not supplied. I also swapped over the oil drain hose. New engine only comes with a plug. Electrical cable to starter was exactly same connection so was the power plug. Shafts were exactly same so hydro output pulley and clutch bolted right on perfectly. I didn't even need to use a puller. Clutch slips right off when bolt removed. This was a very easy engine swap. Bolt holes lined up perfectly with new engine. Used old bolts to mount new engine. My other engine has blown headgaskets which I will fix some other day. Added slightly more than 2qt 30wt non detergent oil to get level to full mark. It took about 5 seconds to start on first try. It had to pump fuel into carb. Starts almost instantly now no matter where I have throttle set. Run perfectly hasn't bogged once. No retorqueing head bolts is what I found online. First 2 oil changes should be done early 4 to 8 hrs then your good for your normal routine. Seems like a great engine so far. It was packed well. Fedx left it on my porch laying on its side and the box was ripped but engine was fine. Had heavy foam around all sides. Very happy with it so far. I have used it for 3 cuts on a half acre lot. Maybe 1.5 hrs on it with letting it idle some while I blow it off after each cut. Definitely a good buy versus buying complete new mower.

Engine is a direct fit for my Bad Boy ZT Elite. Would have been an easy change, except I couldn't get any bolts to fit mounting holes. I tried standard and metric. I ended up running a 3/8 tap in the holes and finally managed to get bolted on. After that it was an easy hook up. Started easy and ran great.

Works as it should. You're going to need to tap the mounting bolt holes. And don't forget to add oil.
