I’m not thoroughly impressed. I Owned a Toto before that was much better. The seat was warmer, the flush was better. It’s worth 3500 at most.

    • Good replacement for the 1st gen Kohler Numi

We originally installed a 1st gen Kohler intelligent toilet 10 years ago. It was getting to the point where repairs (although infrequent) were staring to become expensive and we were recommended to replace it. This is what we bought. Quick delivery from Amazon, and a competitive price. Our plumbing guys had it installed in about 3 hours - it would have been two but the faucet for the water feed needed to be relocated, as the Eir is designed to be mounted flush to the wall at the rear and conceal the electrical and plumbing feeds, which looks very neat. Compared to the Numi, certain features are missing, but they were all features that we never used in ten years, such as the annoying music that greets you when you approach it, and the built-in radio. Gone is the wired remote dock, everything is now battery and wireless. Menus and settings are much simpler. The manual controls are no longer hidden buttons on the side, but (somewhat bizarrely) illuminated icons on the rear of the seat. I doubt you'll ever use them, so not a big deal. We also own a current model K-5401-PA Veil, which is cheaper that the Eir, and the Eir resolves on of the huge annoyances of the Veil - the settings have up and down buttons. On the Veil, if you accidentally touch the seat heater button, you have to step through all five heat levels up and then back down again. On the Eir, that problem is fixed. It looks like it is the same remote with just a firmware difference, so it may be possible to get the Veil upgraded. Overall, so far so good. It's been simplified by removing gimmicks, the core flush mechanism has been completely reworked compared to the Numi, eliminating the cause of the majority of the problems. The only reason it doesn't have 5 stars is that the seat shape and design is not as good as the Numi. ... show more
