The product itself is sufficient and serves its purpose. However, contrary to the product details, this is not the "quick-install/attach" model. Kohler offers a version with traditional mounting (which is nothing complicated and is a matter of tightening a few screws) and another version with the "quick-attach" feature which is a hinge that slides on and off upon tightening or loosening a screw....removing the need to completely unfasten the mounting hardware if you wanted to take your seat off for whatever reason such as a deep clean in those areas that are difficult or unable to be reached). Anyway, I paid more here for this product after reading the description having us believe it is the latter of the two versions. The sitting portion also slides much more side to side (cannot be adjusted) than the previous Kohler seat I took off (which happens to be the "quick-release" model. All in all, it works but is hard to justify the amount spent for a downgraded model.

I ordered a second seat for a bathroom I was remodeling and it took longer than expected to finish, so I just now opened the seat (stored safely) and one of the prongs that attach to the toilet seat is broken/damaged. I cannot use the seat. The box was and is in perfect condition, so make sure you inspect it you are not planning on using it right away.

The seats have been on for about two days now. Everyone seems to like them better than the seats that came with the toilets, so that's a plus. They are toilet seats so there's really not much complexity in the installation. As such, saying they were easy to install would be redundant. However, I like the ones with mounts that you just snap down and twist to lock more than how these mounted, again, not a big deal. We got three so if there was a serious complication with installing them believe me I'd have had ample opportunity to find it. The only "con" I really have with these is that it is difficult for this old man to understand how "new" toilet seats sealed in plastic can be that filthy dirty. They were easy to clean, but still, I found it confusing that all 3 were that way.

One thing was the dimensions are incorrect. Example: 20.380 dim stated is from the tank and not the mounting holes. Also the seat is not removal for whatever reason Kohler thinks this is not a good feature.

Very easy to install being mindful of black clips having "+" and "-" symbols that must both face in the same direction. Seat too narrow for Grip-Tight pads to fully set on porcelain surface. Using seat feels "squirmy" and unpleasant to use. I'm in the process of reordering new seat K-7671-9 and returning this one K-4008-0.

Seat is a replacement for another model from Kohler which developed cracks sufficient to render it unusable. The previous seat had the Quick Release feature which I liked. This one does not. However this seat was the only one available with all the other features we desired. It works.
