The KOHLER Purewash E580 White Elongated Bidet Seat has exceeded my expectations. As a brand I trust for quality and reliability, I had high hopes for this KOHLER bidet, even though bidets were a completely new experience for me. My primary concern was hygiene, particularly in shared usage scenarios. Installation was a breeze (though I'm an engineer and have also installed toilets before). It came complete with all the necessary components and a clear set of instructions. No need for a plumber. The only additional requirement was a GFCI protected power outlet near the toilet, which eliminated the need for any unsightly extension cords. In less than 30 minutes, with just an adjustable wrench and screwdriver, the installation was complete. This plastic bidet seat boasts an array of features you'd find in top-tier models, including an adjustable water heater, a heated seat with customizable temperature levels, and a warm-air dryer. The stainless steel wand is automatically cleaned both before and after each use. The spray pressure, oscillating wash, and self-cleaning nozzle all contribute to a thorough and effective cleanse. The air-bubble wash, while initially unusual, proves to be both gentle and efficient. Cleanliness was a major concern for me, but the stainless steel wand's automatic cleaning process, along with the seat's intuitive sensing system, has ensured a consistently clean experience. The control panel, conveniently located on one side of the seat, is straightforward and easy to navigate. While some bidets come with a separate remote control, I found this integrated design to be practical. Power usage for heating and electronics is 120VAC, with the option for a Power Save mode to optimize energy consumption. One minor drawback is that the internal components slightly reduce the seat opening size, necessitating a slightly forward seated position. To be honest, I half-expected to return this bidet, anticipating potential limitations in its washing and drying capabilities.     • Great full-featured bidet and easy to use!

Overall, this seat is easy to install and use, and a breeze to maintain. PROS: Warm air Warm seat Warm water Self-cleaning nozzle CONS: Slight forward pitch of the seat Upon opening the box, I found the Purewash E580 Bidet Seat with attached control panel, mounting hardware, water hose, Homeowner’s Guide, and Installation Instructions. The instructions were very straightforward -- the installation took me less than 20 minutes. After getting the toilet ready (turning the water line off and flushing it), the next step involved attaching the mounting plate to the bowl of the toilet and sliding the bidet seat into place until it locks. Then the water was to be connected via the included t-valve. No plumber’s tape was mentioned in the manual and none was provided, so I didn’t use any and I have had no issues with leaks. Each of the hoses and connectors has rubber washers in them. I only needed an adjustable wrench and a flathead screwdriver for the entire installation. The guide mentioned optionally using plastic wrap on the seat for when you test the operation of the water nozzle but it also says you can simply sit on the seat instead which is what I did. When I attempted to plug in the cord, it didn’t reach the nearest outlet so I had to buy an extension cord to make it work. Of course, that is expected since the manufacturer has no idea how near/far every person’s outlet will be. When I first sat down on this, I selected medium heat for water and medium heat for the seat. Not only was the water the perfect temperature but it was so delicate and comfortable. I could feel the seat warming quickly and I could imagine how great this will be during the colder months. There is also an adjustable wand which allows you to move the wand back and forth to adjust to your position. It also has the ability to lock settings so that no one can change them. There is a setting for pressure as well which allows you to adjust the strength of the water. I find the medium pressure to be effective and still gentle. Of course, there are buttons for both the front and the rear, depending on your needs. Each of those buttons can be set to “oscillate” mode which cycles the nozzle back and forth. My favorite feature, though, is the air dryer which delivers a paper-free experience. There’s even a heat setting that allows you to select how warm you would like the air. I have never been a fan of plastic seats but I do like that there is no chipping like there would be with painted wood. I also had a hard time getting used to the slight forward tilt at first but now I don’t even notice it. Both the seat and lid are soft-closing which is just a must-have nowadays. I like how the lid overlaps the seat because it seals out any overspray from the toilet when it’s flushed. Also, the seat senses when you sit down and automatically runs a cleaning cycle before and after you use the toilet. It has Power Save mode which quickly turns the temperature settings either back or down, depending on which mode is chosen. Overall - I'd recommend the Purewash E580 to anyone looking for a full-featured bidet seat that’s easy to use. ... show more

This was our first bidet. Neither of us have used a bidet before so this review may be relevant to novice uses more than the experienced. Be ready for a surprise, and if possible go with the lowest setting and work your way up. After pushing a new outlet through the wall with a GFCI in the potty closet, which took an afternoon and a trip to the hardware store--the seat installed quickly. The included plumbing hardware was strait forward and all I needed. I spent the next few days getting adjusted to and tweaking heat and pressure settings. It was a little rough at first on the tinder areas but the results after a hot pressure washing front to back and a warm blow dry felt amazing after getting up. I felt as clean as getting out of the shower and a thorough scrubbing in just a few minutes. Then wifey came home and after some convincing the results were worth the initial discomfort, she hit the turbo button on the remote and about shot to the ceiling. She was not ready for turbo. READ THE MANUAL FOR ANYONE USING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME! Aside from that, I didn't even realize the seat heated itself until about a week later, which is glorious for relaxing while trying to tackle a stressful evacuation. Lastly, the bidet hardware takes up some space on the rear and sides of the seat. It really shortens the depth of the seat and a wider rear may cover up the side of bowl mounted controls making it difficult to operate. As a taller individual, I've got to really back into the seat and bend over a bit to get the front and back spray points to line up with their intended targets.
