One recommendation, though--be sure you determine whether the seat you are replacing is elongated or rounded. I first purchased the rounded one and discovered I should have gotten the elongated one. Bought this because I haven't gotten around to installing a taller toilet, and my wife took charge and ordered this....well, it seems to work fine. It's giving her the height she needed, and installed easily. It will flip up and stay, and seems to be made from sturdy material. The slightest drawback would be there are several "compartments," on the backside that can cause you to take a little longer cleaning it, but only a few minutes. All in all, a good value for the money, and a boatload cheaper than buying and installing a taller toilet, or having a plumber over to do it! ... show more

This toilet seat is extremely easy to install, and very durable! This has been a lifesaver for my Grandpa! As he has gotten older, it has been more difficult to get up and down. He has raved about this product, and is so thankful for it! I highly recommend getting this toilet sit! Renting a home with a low toilet and my age requires a comfort height toilet. This works fine to give me that extra height and make it so much easier to get down and up at less expense of landlord allowing me to replace with a comfort height at my expense. Oh so easy to get on and off the toilet now! Elongated model fit my toilet perfectly. Looks so nice - definitely does NOT say "disabled person lives here". Silent closure means you can slap down the lid (and it closes silently) so you don't have to look at an open toilet bowl if you not find that attractive. Lid lifts for easy cleaning. The seat, however, while easy to clean, does NOT stay up - you have to hold it up with one hand and clean with the other. However, this seat is so attractive and perfect in every other way I am still giving it 5 stars. ... show more

Now, I'm 62 and I had a total knee replacement 9 years ago, but the toilet in the 1950 bathroom of my 130 year old house is 2 inches lower than the standard, not the new "comfort height" but a true old toilet. It was a pain going down and getting up! I tried a 4 or 5 inch under seat riser and I just don't understand how, as a woman, so much pee could get underneath the riser and actually run down the back of the toilet! That was a gross mess. I am so glad I found this new Hyten by Kohler, it's a game changer. No more adding my own seat on top of a messy riser, just to slide around. The 3 inches brings my low toilet height up to a respectable, non- handi-capped height. I saw the ad on my FB feed and I raced (slowly) to my PC to find it here, at my favorite store and received it just 3 days later. I bought this Kohler seat because I have a San Raphael (round 1990’s edition) which is an odd shape and I thought since Kohler made it it would probably be compatible. I spent about twice as much for the Kohler compared to competitors but the fit and look and ease of installation was worth the difference. It was very easy to install and very solid and secure.
