  • SUV Owners Please Read. Power Cable Is A Bit Short But Works SUV Owners Please Read. Power Cable Is A Bit Short But Works
Color: Blue
Installed this on my 99 Tahoe after reading tons of reviews. This kit is amazing compared to walmart junk and is true to its size. Everything I needed was in the package and the install was easy yet time consuming. The power wire was a bit short for installing on a full size SUV so bare that in mind. It will work but when dealing with SUV's you wont have to much to play with. I routed mine from the battery, through the firewall, behind the front kick panel, down both sets of floor trims (front door, back door) and into the cargo area and barely had enough left over to install it into my amp. This left me with no options as to where I wanted to mount my amp. It is right behind my rear seat. There is no more cable to move it. I would have payed extra if they offered a kit that was made for SUV's that had longer cables. I didnt want to mount it there but I have no choice. All of the other cables were fine running from the head unit. I like the fact that the remote cable is run inside the rca cables. During the install I wasn't having to fidget with getting 2 cables under my door trims. Everything works great and all in all this is the best value cable kit I found for the money. I just wanted to let SUV owners know that you will be limited on your power cable. Maybe this company could consider making kits with different lengths. I am sure compact car owners have tons of cable left over while I struggled to get mine to the back of an SUV. I hope this review helps someone. Thank you for reading and Happy Shopping!! ... show more

  • Real deal wire, leaps and bounds better than the competition
Color: Blue
This product is awesome. There's not much one can say about wire, but I'll try. First of all, the jacket on this is pretty darn tough for being so thin (So don't look at the pictures and think "I don't want that! It'll melt or crack or something! It wont..) Second, it's super flexible, I had no issues installing it in my 2002 Maxima, Which there is very little room under the door entry trim. Lastly and most importantly, it's true 4 gauge wire so you will get the exact amount of current you will need for your amplifier (if your amp suggests something close to 4 gauge) Also, as you would assume, there is a substantial length of wire, I did my car clear to the trunk and had a good 4 feet to spare. As for the other components of this kit- I found them to be great as well. The terminals were the exact size as the wire so no trimming was needed. The terminals were also very easy to crimp. The fuse holder is solidly built with o-rings inside to lock out moisture and acidic gas that flows from your battery (You cant see it, but it's there, and it can ruin fuses in cheap fuse holders) You get loads of speaker wire, I only needed about two foot for my install and that didn't even make a dent in the roll. The RCA's were nice. They seemed tough and the built in remote wire was a nice touch. However, the right channel connector on one end of the wire was very loosely fitting. Probably just a fluke, as all KnuKonceptz products I've seen were fantastic. I just bent it ever so slightly to get a better connection, worked fine. So I'm not one of those guys that heard about this stuff from some famous youtuber and then went out acting like a sales rep for it when they have no prior experiences with wire installation, This is an honest review from some one with knowledge. I believe this product deserves the full five stars. Well done KnuKonceptz, Well done. ... show more

  • KnuKonceptz 4 gauge amp kit
Color: Blue
I purchased this kit mainly based on price and the reviews. I didn't need a kit this large (4 gauge) was overkill, but for the price I was able to get a good kit. There were other brands priced about the same but were not what I consider high quality or high end. I was a bit skeptical about this since I did not hear of the company before. I made the purchase based on the positive reviews. I would give this kit 5 stars due to the quality and price. I think this is a great kit to install for a medium sized system. I do have a few issue with the kit, but these complaints are only based on the fact I did a custom install and this kit did not fit my exact needs. 1. There is no seperate remote wire. The wire is attached to the RCA cable which I did not like. I put a switch on my remote wire so I could turn the amp on and off. When the remote wire is attached to the RCA's an installation like this does not work. 2. The speaker wire was only 18 gauge. If you are going to provide a 4 gauge power wire I think the speaker wire should be at least 12 gauge. 3. The length of the ground wire may not be sufficient. This kit only had 3 feet and I needed 4 feet. The power wire was about 2 feet too short. I would have wanted 20 feet of power wire and 5 feet of ground to make sure the kit was sufficient. All in all this is a great kit for the power wire and RCA's. The connectors are also thick and if you crimp properly will hold well. My complaints are only based on the fact I did a custom install that was a bit unusual. For a normal install and a starter system this is a great kit! ... show more

  • Better than most for the price
Color: Blue
This wiring kit is a pretty good deal. It's actually 4 gauge wiring you are getting, although its not real copper unfortunately. I don't really think that its a big deal, because if this is your price range for the wiring, you aren't going to have a setup that would be hurt by the lesser quality plated aluminium core. The RCA cables are surprisingly high quality, and the terminals are pretty standard. This kit isn't perfect however. The inline fuse holder is very cheap and flimsy, to the point where mine broke after three weeks of use. I do want to point out however, that in my case, my engine bay is hotter than usual, (barely any airflow in a beetle engine bay) and I neglected to secure it to anything, so the failure could have been due to that, but it felt wobbly and cheap right out of the package, so I don't know. I'd say that if you plan on using it, you'd have to baby it, and keep an eye on it. Another flaw is that the cables are pretty short if you plan on mounting your amp in the trunk. My setup barely made it, and my beetle is not a long car. I doubt it would work in a sedan. That being said, if you mount the amp under the seat, there is plenty of speaker wire to make it work. All and all, I'm pretty satisfied. ... show more

  • I Highly Recommend this Wire Kit for 1000w RMS and Lower!
Color: Blue
This wiring kit is honestly really really nice, I'm running a Sundown X-8 on 1000w RMS with a SoundStream P1.1000D. The wire handle's this just fine! Also, all the included bits and pieces are nice to have, honestly there is almost too much extra's like terminal connectors and stuff, but that isn't by any means a bad thing. The remote wire that's in-between the RCA connectors is really convenient and easy to hide, it's also harder to break since it's connected to the other wires, whereas most remote wires are individual and can split easy since they're so small. The fuse is nice as well, it's 80 amps (I believe that's stated in the specs but wanted to add that just in case). I only have 2 complaints, and they're small ones specific to my scenario. First, the speaker wire is too thin for my setup, it's 14 gauge which will NOT handle 1000w RMS obviously haha (I went with 8 gauge for my setup just to be safe, 10 would have been fine). Second, the ground wire is a bit short, if they included a 5 foot ground this would be the perfect kit, but still it was long enough for my needs. Again, those are both specific to me, I don't expect most people buying this kit to be pushing the amount of wattage and amps that I am through this wire, so 14 gauge would be fine, and in most cars (I'm driving a Volvo 240 Wagon) the 3 foot wire is totally fine. Overall I am really happy with this wire and I think you will be too if you get it, I just don't recommend pumping anything more than a 1000w RMS through it was that would be too much and might blow the fuse (1000w RMS equates to close to 80 amps at this length, of course that's just an estimate and the amperage changes with wire length and what not). ... show more

  • BEST INSTALLATION KIT FOR PRICE!!!!
Color: Blue
I bought this item over a year ago! I am reviewing now because i am stunned on what a great value this is! I am running four mid range speakers that have a RMS total output of about 400 watts(amplifier is rated at 460 watts RMS) and my subwoofer which is rated at 750 watts RMS (with a 640 RMS amplifier). All the wiring is from KnuKonceptz KCA kit. Pros: DURABLE: Like i said, i have had this for over a year and it still works with no problem, still looks great, the fuse looks great, the kit as a whole is still in perfect condition! SOUNDS GREAT: I am running a lot of power and the fact that my system sounds great means the power is being delivered! Also when you get this kit you will notice when you cut it how much wires the cable includes! most installation kits offer thick cables that are composed mostly of the plastic wrapping and not a lot of wires but this kit is not like the others, it has a thin layer of outer wrapping and the rest is a thick bunch of wire! AFFORDABLE: This kit is by no means cheap in quality but it is cheap in price! it is by far the best installation kit for the price, you will not find anything better for the price! CONS: NONE: I still have yet to find a con. I will update if something does go wrong! ... show more

  • KnuKonceptz = QUALITY
Color: Blue
I got this kit after reading reviews, doing research, and looking at a few cheap amp kits at the same price at Wal-Mart. This is truly 4 Gauge AWG Wire.... not some 8 or 12 gauge filled into some very thick plastic making you think it was 4 gauge. I have this hooked up to a 3000Watt max (2100RMS @1-Ohm) Planet Audio Anarchy Amp and does the job sufficiently. My car has the battery in the back seat, so I didn't need the full length of Power Wire that came with it. I went to an audio installer and asked him if I could do the BIG 3 upgrade with the rest of the wire, and he said, "Hell Yeah, This is Some Thick Ass Wire... I prefer to use 4 gauge or 0 gauge and this is true 4 AWG, So yeah I'll do it." So I saved a little extra cash in doing the big three with the extra power wire I had from the Kit. It comes with everything you need, literally. 50 amp fuse and a 80 Amp fuse, grommets, speaker terminals, screws, ring terminals, and a few more things. Nothing comes pre-done. You or your installer must cut, crimp, etc, manual. But this is truly quality wire. Its flexible, not stiff, yet its thick. Looking for an amp kit....STOP HERE! ... show more

  • Just installed (updated 7/24/13)
Color: Blue
The price of this kit is what all kits like this should cost. Walmart ones have less wire (and length) and cost more. I am currently happy with this kit with a few exceptions listed in the Cons section of this review. This kit was used in a 1989 Bronco and my biggest problem is that I couldn't ground back to battery with this kit. Pros: 4 Gauge is real 4 Gauge. Its not 10 gauge rapped in insulation made to look like 4. ***RCA cable feels like it was built properly (time will tell) I have both + and - amp power leads laying on top of this cable and no noise. Amp Remote line tied in with RCA lines Battery connecters are solid Fuse holder is constructed very well and is easy to work with. Cons: Ground wire is only 3 feet (I knew the length when I bought the kit but it was 15 feet too short for my install.) Had to spend money else where to get more wire. I feel that the Remote wire is on the thin side. Kit came with missing amp connecter for power speaker wire is on the thin side. Actual wire needs to be a gauge or two bigger. Copper Clad (I miss pure copper wires) 7/24 ***Looks like I got one of those odd ball problem cables. I was able to tweak the RCA connecter to eliminate the ground loop that was causing the alternator whine. ... show more
