    • A worthy placeholder until you find your ideal set of knives
All the knives in this set are adequately sharp and retain their edges surprisingly well. They perform well on bamboo, hardwood, or plastic cutting boards. The included blade guards are a welcome addition because these knives are too attractive to be tucked away in a block. I scratched off some of the ceramic coating on the chef's knife when I was overzealous with my honing rod. The handle grip is a little uncomfortable with the low angle, but it's not terribly useless,. The edge grind isn't as smooth transitioning from tip to heel as more expensive, better quality blades. Overall, you get what you pay for. This is a decent set for the lower price point. I recommend the set as a functional placeholder for the home cook who has their eyes on getting a better quality set in the future. ... show more
