This set is well worth the money! Not only is the color gorgeous, the knives are sharp and cut everything like butter! This is the best knife set I've ever purchased and I'm in my 40s! I would definitely suggest these as a gift, maybe new home owners, a new home chef, or for anyone who cooks! They're really comfortable to hold correctly. They're perfect weight. They look beautiful in the block! (I do wish I had other color choices for the block.) The kitchen sheers are also sharp! Beautiful Color: I absolutely love the color. My first red color cutlery. I actually feel excited and look forward to using them when cooking. Elegant Design: Very sleek, comfortable to hold, light and no connections between handle and knife. Whole knife is just one piece. Proficient Performance: Very sharp, which is good for an expert, but I’m a beginner so I got a couple of minor cuts. Which keeps me more alert now. Overall, absolutely a good purchase. I LOVE these knives! I've been using my old knives for so long I didn't realize how a good sharp knife can simplify a task and make it safer at the same time. This block set looks good on my counter while making access easy. The different types of blades are meant for cutting different things so each cutting task is precise and easy. I plan on emptying my knife drawer and use the space for other items that need the storage space. I highly recommend these knives to anyone seeking a great set of knives. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I'm not paying chef quality prices, so I'm not expecting Chef quality knives. What I did get, was way better quality than I expected (which is always nice). Context for this review, these knives replaced a set that we've had over 20 years and were mid to high range quality. I bought 3 different sets to compare at the same time. One went back before being fully unboxed. The handles felt like light cheap plastic, and the set actually cost more. The other was more comparable, but still did not have the sturdy, comfortably weighted, feel of these knives. Plus, I love the extra smooth feel of the grips on these. The color is what bright me to the knives in the first place. It is as pictured. It goes great in the house in which we recently moved (with a much different color scheme than we've ever had prior to this). The knives have cut very well, especially for their price point which is always important to keep in mind. I loved everything about these including over the set we kept for over 20 years, except for one small thing. The scissor placement. This is an issue with many of the sets even the "higher quality" ones that cost much more. The Scissors are probably the most consistently used single item, but they have a lower profile and are stuck in the center of higher profiled knives. This does not make them as easy to retrieve or return as it would if they were in the front or at least a far edge of the block. I mean, it makes no sense to me to have a taller item (that is probably not used as regularly = knife sharpener) in front of the scissors. That is for me the only reason I could not give it 5 stars. I'm also a little worried about the actual block showing wear and tear relatively easily with the knives etc... coming in and out over time. But hopefully, that can be easily fixed with wood touch up. I have not been willing to put them in the dishwasher despite conflicting information saying they are dishwasher safe. One steak knife got put in by a guest and it came out just fine, but I personally still would not want to run the risk of effects over time. Overall I am thrilled with this knife set which has been in use for over 4 months before being reviewed. First of all, these replaced a J.H. Henckels set I had received as wedding gift two years ago which promptly rusted. My husband (the cook in the family) was complaining about how bad they looked so we went on the hunt. I wanted a pair that would match our kitchen, in addition to being a good set that would last a long time. This set had good reviews and seemed like it would fit the bill. The box arrived quickly and we loved how well the knives were packaged. My husband was excited that the knives each had the words engraved which told you what type of knife they were. And of course, they looked amazing in our kitchen. The best part, however, is how incredibly sharp they are. Almost every time we cook, my husband says, "Wow, I LOVE these knives. They are such an upgrade over the last set!" He loves to show me how he can slice through different foods with ease, when he had to work at it a bit with our last set. He is definitely enjoying cooking with them. I have to say, we made a conscious decision that we would no longer put our knives into the dishwasher. We'd been told that doing so caused rust, but also that it made knives more dull. So our new routine is that we wash them by hand, let them sit for a few minutes while washing other things, then dry them with a towel and return them to the block. We wash not only the blades but also the handles, because we feel like if we don't, then you will be able to see greasy fingerprints on them. It may seem like a lot of work, but once you get used to it, it comes as second nature. And the fact that it maintains the life and look of your knife set makes it all worth it!
