These knives came super sharp! I'd been using a singular very dull knife for a while so to use these was amazing! Like putting in a fresh pair of contacts. On top of that, the amount of knives that comes with it all was overwhelming compared to when I was just using one for everything. But it's so freeing, having different knives for different things! I may not have read the description all the way through. I thought it said Damascus & stainless steel. The Damascus is just appearance and the first time I ran them through the dishwasher they developed rust spots. See photo. My dishwasher has a PLASTIC utensil tray. First, knifes etc.. are held up right so they aren't laying in water. They have maintained their sharpness. I really would not recommend them. The price is cheap but the quality is too. ... show more

For the price or not this is a very good set. Just keep the Handel's away from heat. They come extremely sharp and have good weight to them. More than I was expecting.

We received the block with silver blade steel and it's much flimsyer than we thought still a good value for the money
