Excellent. You have to spend atlest 3x more to get something that's noticeably better. Much better then the refrence line. You can get 2x better performance if you use a subwoofer and use a amp or pre amp with hpf and lpf. Treble is a bit boosted but it might be because i prefer bass boost but it handles eq very well. Even without any eq or subwoofer its really good. Its very efficient so almost anything will power it well i use it with a denon 70w avr in home theater setup and wiim ultra+ vibelink amp combo for music. Its excellent in both tv movies and music. The sound is very realistic forward live sound without being harsh and bass is not that good but its a passive bookshelf speaker thats to be expected. ... show more

    • Solid performing stereo speakers at a reasonable price.
I had my old speaker for almost 40 years and they finally wore out. These Klipsch speakers were a pretty close match in size any are pretty affordable. These speakers are a bit large for “bookshelf” but they should be on stands so they can be positioned in the room where they sound best. There is a port on the back and quite a bit of difference in the bass registers results from how close the speakers are to walls or hard objects. The included manual has basic tips for positioning. The front grilles are held on with magnets snd can be easily removed if desired. The grilles do not seem to affect the sound much, so either on or off is OK. The speakers arrived well protected with plastic wrap and styrofoam in a sturdy box. Setup is easy. I just had dropped attach the speakers to my existing amplifier. The binding posts on the speakers do not have banana jacks. The thumb screws tighten directly over the incoming wires. Jumpes may be removed to allow woofers and tweeters to be attached to separate amplifiers but that probably isn’t worth doing on compact speakers such as these. Sound quality is pretty good. There seems to be a little emphasis towards the bass end of then sound spectrum. I like to add about 2 dB of emphasis above 2.5 KHz on my preamp to get the sound I like. Changing room position might help, but I am limited for space where I can put the speakers. Over all, I would say the speakers are pretty neutral snd should be good for listening to most types of program material. The sensitivity of the speakers is good and they can be turned up to louder thsn needed with a small amplifier. I have them attached to an older Adcom GFA-555 which puts out more than 100 Watts/channel. It might be a good idea to use an in-line fuse holder with a 3.5 amp fast blow fuse in series with the speaker to help prevent damage to the tweeter in case the amp overloads, for example an input comes loose and picks up loud AC hum. Over all these are pretty solid performing well made speakers and a good value for the money. The speakers should last a long time as long as they are protected from overloads with would subject them to over 100 Watts. There is a newer generation of this model, but it costs more.     • Great Sound, excellent value, highly recommended.
WOW! I have had a dozen speakers since 1986. These replaced an older pair of Advents that need the foam replaced and a pair of KEFs that needed replacement. Was listening on Grado 100 Bluetooth open back headphones that I like. Looked at Polk, JBL, Sony and others. The Klipsch pricing was excellent for the specs. I knew the Klipsch reputation. Packaging was excellent. Arrived as expected. They look great and are solid. Manufacturing is very nice. 43 lb for the pair. I wish they came set up for banana plug connections but not a big deal. The connections are substantial and take Monster speaker wire. (Overkill I know). Spatially the speakers are crisp with good base. Listened to Van Morrison old, new, studio, and live. Argo Part, Yo Yo Ma, Bach, and John Adams to start. All of them sound completely new. Will have to wait until they break in to see after a hundred hours or so. Set up with an Adcom CD/preamp/amp due to space in the room. Speakers are 8 ft apart and listened at 12 ft, 16 ft, and 24 ft. Really pleased with everything. This speakers have excellent sound. The delivery was fast and the box came in perfect condition. A great value!! They manage my 80 wpc rms effortlessly as they can hold up to 100 watts and the wood finish is beautiful.

    • RP-600M - Natural sounding, quality build and attractive finish. Pleasently surprised by the sound.
Two things I use to judge audio equipment like these speakers. My ears and my wallet. These speakers get a 5 out of 5 stars for both. They are nicely finished, attractive in any audio setting and to my ears they are as natural sounding as you can get for the money spent. I've been enjoying them since they arrived, well packaged and quickly shipped. I can not see how you could go wrong. Are your ears "Tuned" differently than mine? Possibly. Perhaps an older set of ears like mine have lost some of the discriminating qualities a younger set may have but none the less these are a great buy that I'd recommend a listen to anyone. The Klipsch RP-600Ms were a "temporary" replacement for a pair of Bose 201s that had to go into the repair shop. A good friend who knows audio gear suggested these, and he was right! They sound great and arrived a day early and undamaged. They were cranking out the Allman Brothers Band 's "Eat a Peach" album a mere 5 minutes after they arrived. A little placement adjustments and I'm very pleased. Even my dog is diggin' these speakers! The 201s may have to go into a back-up role when they come back! ... show more

    • Solid, very well built speakers.
Awesome speakers right out of the box. Will only improve as they progress through break in process. I know a lot of people say break in isn't necessary but any new speakers need approximately 50 hours or so of run time to "relax" and show their true potential. The box they came in was damaged on the top and one side. Looked like something heavy had fallen on them. Also ripped on back side of cardboard. Only a slight nick on the corner of one speaker though. Hardly noticeable so I did not return them. If the box was dropped at some point and there are any issues internally I will address them at that time. No reason for concern after thorough exam and testing. Note that they are a bit heavier and larger than I initially expected, which was an awesome surprise. They are very solid and well built. Have already replaced my original Bose 301 series II speakers with these ones. Would have easily given 5 stars if the box had not been delivered with damage. ... show more
