  • Solid performing stereo speakers at a reasonable price.
I had my old speaker for almost 40 years and they finally wore out. These Klipsch speakers were a pretty close match in size any are pretty affordable. These speakers are a bit large for “bookshelf” but they should be on stands so they can be positioned in the room where they sound best. There is a port on the back and quite a bit of difference in the bass registers results from how close the speakers are to walls or hard objects. The included manual has basic tips for positioning. The front grilles are held on with magnets snd can be easily removed if desired. The grilles do not seem to affect the sound much, so either on or off is OK. The speakers arrived well protected with plastic wrap and styrofoam in a sturdy box. Setup is easy. I just had dropped attach the speakers to my existing amplifier. The binding posts on the speakers do not have banana jacks. The thumb screws tighten directly over the incoming wires. Jumpes may be removed to allow woofers and tweeters to be attached to separate amplifiers but that probably isn’t worth doing on compact speakers such as these. Sound quality is pretty good. There seems to be a little emphasis towards the bass end of then sound spectrum. I like to add about 2 dB of emphasis above 2.5 KHz on my preamp to get the sound I like. Changing room position might help, but I am limited for space where I can put the speakers. Over all, I would say the speakers are pretty neutral snd should be good for listening to most types of program material. The sensitivity of the speakers is good and they can be turned up to louder thsn needed with a small amplifier. I have them attached to an older Adcom GFA-555 which puts out more than 100 Watts/channel. It might be a good idea to use an in-line fuse holder with a 3.5 amp fast blow fuse in series with the speaker to help prevent damage to the tweeter in case the amp overloads, for example an input comes loose and picks up loud AC hum. Over all these are pretty solid performing well made speakers and a good value for the money. The speakers should last a long time as long as they are protected from overloads with would subject them to over 100 Watts. There is a newer generation of this model, but it costs more. This model still satisfactory. ... show more

  • Great Sound, excellent value, highly recommended.
WOW! I have had a dozen speakers since 1986. These replaced an older pair of Advents that need the foam replaced and a pair of KEFs that needed replacement. Was listening on Grado 100 Bluetooth open back headphones that I like. Looked at Polk, JBL, Sony and others. The Klipsch pricing was excellent for the specs. I knew the Klipsch reputation. Packaging was excellent. Arrived as expected. They look great and are solid. Manufacturing is very nice. 43 lb for the pair. I wish they came set up for banana plug connections but not a big deal. The connections are substantial and take Monster speaker wire. (Overkill I know). Spatially the speakers are crisp with good base. Listened to Van Morrison old, new, studio, and live. Argo Part, Yo Yo Ma, Bach, and John Adams to start. All of them sound completely new. Will have to wait until they break in to see after a hundred hours or so. Set up with an Adcom CD/preamp/amp due to space in the room. Speakers are 8 ft apart and listened at 12 ft, 16 ft, and 24 ft. Really pleased with everything. I highly recommend the Klipch RP-600M’s. ... show more

  • Big Sound Stage, Modest Size
These are astounding for this price point. I got them to replace ten inch two way vintage early 80’s cabinets. Paired them with a Klipsch sub that I purchased a while back. The horn drivers give these speakers a warm and incredibly detailed sound stage. On their own the low frequency response is quite respectable so I set my system crossover at 80 hz. Jazz is amazing, like sitting in an audience listening live. I played an early 80’s doors album on my turntable and it just rocks. You won’t be sorry if you buy these. ... show more

  • Wow. Fantastic speakers especially at this price point
Bought these for my 800 sq foot workshop. Powered them with a simple Douk Audio ST-01 PRO 200W amp. They sound incredible - with no EQ they are detailed with great balance across lows, mids and highs. They easily produce more volume than I need in my space. Each speaker weighs around 15 pounds. I mounted mine using the WALI SWM201 Speaker Wall Mount and making sure the screws were in a stud. They pair well with these mounts and look great. I paid $349 for these and that's a steal for the incredible sound quality, easy ability to drive with a small amp, and overall look. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Punches above its Class
These punch way above their class. Don’t be over influenced by audiophiles sprouting frequency charts, trust your ears and put on dynamic music whether old school cool jazz masters Miles, Coltrane, Chet Baker or the Trinity of Bach, Mozart, or Beethoven. Get ready for a lively dynamic treat with these Klipsch speakers they are very sensitive and don’t require a lot of power. A subwoofer is an absolutely necessity with rock or acoustic jazz they just don’t have the ability to reach down low. This has to be a Best Buy at the current price. ... show more

  • Solid, very well built speakers.
Awesome speakers right out of the box. Will only improve as they progress through break in process. I know a lot of people say break in isn't necessary but any new speakers need approximately 50 hours or so of run time to "relax" and show their true potential. The box they came in was damaged on the top and one side. Looked like something heavy had fallen on them. Also ripped on back side of cardboard. Only a slight nick on the corner of one speaker though. Hardly noticeable so I did not return them. If the box was dropped at some point and there are any issues internally I will address them at that time. No reason for concern after thorough exam and testing. Note that they are a bit heavier and larger than I initially expected, which was an awesome surprise. They are very solid and well built. Have already replaced my original Bose 301 series II speakers with these ones. Would have easily given 5 stars if the box had not been delivered with damage. ... show more

  • RP-600M - Natural sounding, quality build and attractive finish. Pleasently surprised by the sound.
Two things I use to judge audio equipment like these speakers. My ears and my wallet. These speakers get a 5 out of 5 stars for both. They are nicely finished, attractive in any audio setting and to my ears they are as natural sounding as you can get for the money spent. I've been enjoying them since they arrived, well packaged and quickly shipped. I can not see how you could go wrong. Are your ears "Tuned" differently than mine? Possibly. Perhaps an older set of ears like mine have lost some of the discriminating qualities a younger set may have but none the less these are a great buy that I'd recommend a listen to anyone. Currently driven by a vintage NAD 7140. ... show more

  • Perfect for a Small Apartment
They are perfect! Ihey're great for my small apartment. I have neighbors, so the sound can't be too loud. They work well with my television and look really great. Sound quality is stellar.
